Did Anyone Predict This Result?

Manchester City 0 - Tottenham Hotspur 4 ?

Nobody predicted this result, not even the great predictor, Sandy!
Look back at his predictions for our next few matches!
Our last 6 results have been L-W-L-W-L-W.

And we were missing Romero, VDV, Bentancur, Richarlison ....

Well, the Tottenham side that came out onto the pitch at City played a game of their lives. They had to. Most of the game was in the Tottenham half, and luckily 3 things happened:
1. City lost their shooting boots. Missed multiple great chances.
2. Vicario made at least 5 game-saving saves against point blank shots.
3. We hit them on the fast break and Maddison showed his true form.

I have to admit I was surprised at how well Dragusin and Davies defended.
And how well Bissouma played, given that he got a Yellow card within the first minute of the game.

Every one played well. Kulusevski was all over the field, racing forward at every chance. Porro too. Maddison gave a master class in midfield generalship. Son gave Walker plenty to think about all afternoon, and was unlucky not to score.

The icing on the cake was to see Kyle Walker out run by Timu Werner for the 4th goal, a tap-in by BJ. Kudos to Timu for that!

Anyone making predictions for our next few matches now?

I was joking but I did predict it and didn't make any contradictory comments.

You weren’t joking. You spent 4 days researching every possible outcome of this result and gave it exactly right

But the correct result was 0-4...not 4-0.

What i thought we did well was protect Drag & Davies. Other than the first 10 minutes, and esp. when Davies got drawn into pressing high up and then never really recovered his position, allowing Haaland the freedom of the left side to miss his chance, we really did a good job of not being exposed by them.

At times we pressed high and we also had some decent controlled possession in their half but were never really cut open on the break. It was very solid and I thought that Udogie was noticeable in limiting his advanced runs. He supported play and took advanced positions as we played out but suspect his heat map is more defensive than it usually is.

Thought we did really well once we had weathered their initial storm, and as the commentators said, stopped them playing through us, forced them wide and defended the box.

Vicario was very solid but thought he should be making all the saves he did. Nothing spectacular.

What i really like about this team is how we try and impose our style on the,. Ange said afterwards, some teams get spooked about having a go at City, but we had no problems really trying to play our way, take teh game to them when we could, knowing that we had to suffer a bit when they had possession. @ 43% vs 57% possession, it was great that we just didnt let them keep coming at us, wave after wave.
