For two of their goals today, he made poor decisions, again. For their first goal, he steps back when he should be moving out to make the goal smaller for their striker. This is the place where keepers need to be brave, to dive at the feet of an incoming striker, and Mes backed off.
And again, for their third goal, he stays on the line, afraid to put himself on the line for the team.
These are the moments where goalies can get hurt, but it's where they can save goals from being scored and at the moment, I never feel Mes is all in, as a keeper. He backs off.
For the most part, it goes unnoticed because our defence has been tight, but today, you could see they weren't at their best, and we needed Mes to step up. He didn't. Yes, defenders switched off, but Mes did not do what he is paid to do.
What's worrying is that our defenders are beginning to lost trust in him and this is adding unnecessary pressure to our back four. It's as though Struijk and Rodon are thinking, 'do I let Mes come for the ball, or do I sort it out myself?'
Mes showed, in his first two seasons, that he can be an excellent keeper, but in my opinion, he has gone backwards since then and right now, unfortunately, he is becoming a liability. His flappy ball-handling and lack of command in the box scream of someone who is frightened, not fierce. I would love to see him play with that old fire in his belly, but how does he get it back?
Mes is a coward

I still think you're ace SPIT ...... never had a moments bother with your posts.
I do think a lot of stuff on here comes down to how things are interpreted.

thanks Vofy, and totally agree... I use humour in a lot of situations and for different reasons - but mainly, to test waters to see if people are like minded... can we become pals?, do you laugh at the same things as me? etc etc.
I have a lot of, lets say disagreements on here for it.. and I can't express enough how much I never mean any harm in the slighest.
and if I ever do over step it, I'm THE first person to apologise, always.
I do think people hold too much of a grudge on here... almost like people change their football opinions to stay pally with certain people.
nothing in the rule book of pals to say you have to agree with them on everything all the time.
in the case above some people just can't move on - its sad, but as per, I'll wish the matty mister well, oh and Dennis too, lets hope comes to his senses and comes back.

oh and VOF... with your post earlier in the thread, with such awful news, I do feel as if this argument was extremely unnecessary - I was actually thinking that when NJS and LIW were going at it.. but then I myself got dragged in, so I'm sorry for my part in this thread. there are much more serious events in peoples lives that put into perspective petty arguments like this
love to you and yours VOF

Spanish👍. You’re a top man and your logic is sound. just make sure that in future you always score my threads a ‘5’ and you do your maths homework to understand when a game is a ‘must win’. Love yer pal🍻😂.
(and I don’t know VOF well enough to say much about his sad situation but my very best wishes anyway).

Thanks all, really kind comments. SPiT .... the argument (debates) on here can always get out of control, regularly. ...... most of the time that's the fun of it. Still a great bunch of fans swapping thoughts, that's at the root of it all. We're just opinionated (mostly in a good way), must be all the yorkshire tea and puddings .....
Bit of a side anecdote about the tragedy we went through. In a family full of Leeds fans, he was a Man U fan through and through. Young bugga, nothing we could do to sway him (i admired his independence, if not his life choice!). Mum asked that at his funeral we'd all where the Man U remembrance pins. We all agreed and did out of respect. This year at the home games i keep panicking at ER and needing to double/triple check i've got my Leeds one on, not the one i wore for his funeral!!!

VOF that's a great thing to do.. I love to hear things like that.. it does put football beefs into perspective,
When the tragedy in Galatasary happened, I always remember reading the note on a bunch of flowers, Man United colours "we are all united" or words to that affect.
