Yesterday's result was probably what most of us expected. Not as straightforward as we would have liked, some good and bad things happening, a lot of wasted chances still but ultimately we got the win.
Nothing to get over-excited about, but obviously better to win than not.
The toffees visit us this Sunday, and let's be honest, it's a game we should be winning. No doubt they will set out to be tough to break down and hit us on the break, but even with Amorim and the players getting use to each other, it should be another game where we can get the necessary result.
We still seem to be slow to recover when we lose the ball, a lack of urgency still in that department. Would like us to keep a clean sheet, but there always seems an error in us to lose a goal. To that part, Onana is doing well to minimise this.
Same again for Sunday?

Everton will be different kettle of fish on Sunday. But you could clearly see last night how Amorim has already started instructing the players to transition formations in and out of possession. So last night was a fair start when they eventually started to understand what they were supposed to be doing by the second half and it bodes well for the future. (If it wasnt for rubbish finishing as usual with the chances we easily created in the second half United could have got a hat full.

Rasmus first goal was absolute quality from him. We need to give him the ball more. Nacho and Rashford need to stop being so selfish.

Garnacho and Rashford being the main culprits again. Their finishing last night was woeful. Good job Hojlund had his shooting boots on.

Yes he was. That goal with his quick feet was superb. (Almost Law-esque, dare I say).
Nacho needs to concentrate on finsishing. He seems to be constantly looking for Top Bins every shot he has. Rashy needs to get his left shooting boot working again too.

Garnacho and Rashford will always be shoot first type of players. It's just what they are.

I get the feeling it's also a confidence thing with Garnacho and Rashy - they know the pressure is on them to make the most of their chances, but I really feel under Amorim that they will get the chances to do that. If it doesn't work out, it will be more of a failing of their abilities as players, rather than a manager who doesn't know how to get the best out of them.
It's good to see that Amorim is pushing Hojlund to improve also in his comments.
Have said it a few times now, but it's the way he is communicating with the players and clearly telling them what he wants - they may not always do it, or be able to implement it (only time will tell), but the instruction is clear.
We were severly lacking that previously.

I thought they took their chances really well last night, they scored two goals on the break and we were pretty dominant up until that point.
It seems we will rely on defenders winning their individual battles and Ruben called Malecia out on that after the game. We will be vulnerable to the counter playing this way.

Both should be no more than impact subs in Amorim's system. Bruno & Amad behind Hojlund.

Or Mount if he can stay fit.

This would’ve been the move of the game and some good signs, fast to move to attack after retaining the ball well for once and moving it around patiently.

Awful finishing once again.
