I go back to the original point you said the Arsenal pairing weren't the best because a trophy wasn't won. My point is that winning a trophy is not indicative of how good the defence is. If I analyse the ability of players solely on what they've won then you'd have the likes of Phil Neville being touted as one of the best players around in his position which is clearly nonsense.

i remember when we had carra and hyppia etc or henchoz hyppia, not the best individually but in a def team with 2 dms etc or cbs at fullback they got the most clean sheets etc. Think thats rings a bit true with Arsenal atm too.
