Calm when the storm comes

Interesting comments from RA yesterday when asked about the game later today where he again dampened any expectations of a quick turn around of fortunes at Manchester United when it comes to results

"I want to say different things, but I have to say it again: the storm will come," said Amorim about his side's progress.

"We are going to have difficult moments and we will be found out in some games. And I know that, because I'm knowing my players and I know football. So I understand the difference between the teams. We are in the point that we are putting simple things in the team, without training. And you feel it."

Nice to see a manager call a spade a spade and realise currently United have no chance in competing with the top sides in the land.

I for one hope when the storm does arrive and United “get found out" the fans will remain calm. The last thing the new manager needs is a baying mob at his back at the first sign of trouble.

RT if you want us to win tonight

Like if you prefer us to lose.

(Standard twitter poll, putting the answer you want to win as the like option).
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Though I obviously want United to win every game, we do have to remember that Arsenal are once again trying to Save Football this season. I'll grudgingly take a 3-1 win.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've already accepted that LFC are going to win the league and I am, surprisingly, at peace with it. It's going to be overshadowed by our resurgence and City's punishment/non-punishment anyway and it won't last for them. They'd be lucky to end up a Wenger Arsenal at best.

If City were nine points clear I'd say it was basically over. I think any other team would hit a difficult patch, and I believe Liverpool probably will at some stage.

I agree with most of the comments so far and all this is proving is how incredibly stupid and spineless INEOS were in the summer. This guy should have had been given a summer training camp, tour and £100-150m to spend on players that fit his system.

I know we can't change the past now but this is why I was so vocal about how crap that decision to keep ETH was. It was the most predictable sacking in the history of football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Except they wanted Tuchel in the summer, not Amorim.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Which further backs up my point. I don't think they are any better at this than Woodward and Arnold. Hopefully they allow Berrada and Ashworth to handle things from now on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well at least they know their limitations and have hired footballing people, something the Glazers and Woodward never did.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Again,... they actually backed Ten Hag in the summer

Again all they did was not bad. The transfer window was very well ran for once, for starters.

Yeah not everyone can have the easy ride Slot has had at Liverpool, so it will be interesting to see how short-sighted certain elements of the fanbase will be in the levels of support they give Amorim.

Did he just say these players are crap, inconsistent and that he has to teach them the basics of football again

..............

No, he is not saying any of that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lmao. Sounded like it. He also said they are too deluded to learn anything tangible

I don't their philosophy is to buy for the manager, but a style and ethos set by the club. And tbf that's borne out by what Amorim's getting out of them. It's promising.

Sadly Ten Hag couldn't manage that so he failed to meet their strategy with the players they've brought in.

Im not disputing that.

But they facked up on backing Ten Hag. Clearly.

So they did or didn't back him? I'm confused.
