Spurs fans throw missiles at Palmer

Yeh the throwing stuff was a bit stupid, I get one or two cups or wrappers coming down but the amount and tat the cameras were catching the fans doing it might cause problem, fine for the club and possible banning orders for the fans
And yes, that looked a clear red for the tackle, would be interested in hearing any communication between the ref and VAR?

The studs up the shins tackle not even receiving a yellow has to be the most bizarre moment of the season thus far.
Sorry, but I just don't get the rules and laws anymore.

You are not alone. Niether do the refs.
The way they have set up the protocols for VAR are so unsatisfactory. In a challenge where a played goes shin high studs up and gets nowhere near the ball...and the ref barely gave a free kick, and didnt give a yellow, surely VAR should be thinking "i dont think the ref saw that properly"
Surely, the conversation between VAR and ref should be: "We've looked at it and the player missed the ball, but caught Sarr full-on, on the shin with his studs. You have not issued a yellow so did you see that contact??"
Because you have to assume that the ref did not see that properly because its 100% yellow minimum and really its a clear red.
But instead, all VAR are doing is measuring whether they think its excessive force (which isn't even the only measurement) or whether its enough to override an on-field decision.
VAR are checking whether its a red. In circumstances when the ref hasnt even given a yellow, surely they must be asking him to take another look at it. If he had given a yellow they could conclude he's judged it onfield as a bad foul and that may be enough.
But he gave nothing so he's judged it to be a minor foul, and that is no minor foul.
If he had given a red it would not have been over turned.
So for a foul that would not be over turned when given as a red, he gave nothing. The difference between those 2 extremes of decisions make it the very definition of clear and obvious?

Nothing about the red card that caicedo should have got
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Going to ignore the red card that Kulusevski should have got for running straight through Lavia with his elbow up then?
Either they are both reds, or neither of them are.

It’s embarrassing to take children to football matches. The behaviour of grown adults is pathetic.

This sort of behavior is never good. Thankfully for Palmer there’s nothing in his head to damage
