A great back-to-back double over Palace and we go into Christmas in a half decent position.
Gabriel Jesus continued where he left off on Wednesday with 2 goals in the first 14 minutes. They sandwiched a Sarr equaliser, but Kai Havertz was on hand to extend the lead after Jesus hit the post. Any worries of a comeback were extinguished by Gabriel Martinelli - after another good chance for Jesus was saved. Declan Rice added a 5th to seal the win.
We are just 3 points off Liverpool now, although the Scousers have 2 games in hand. Chelsea go to Everton with a point advantage on us. Maybe we will have some Christmas gifts from our neighbours and our old friend Dyche...
We don't play again until Friday, giving us an unusually long Christmas week off. Ipswich are our opponents, and they come in on the back of a 4-0 hammering by Newcastle.
The only negative, Bukayo Saka picked up an injury. With Raheem Sterling missing today, it could leave us short for the next few weeks - although Jesus' form negates that a little!!

We looked pretty suspect at the back but as soon as rice came on, we started to dominate the game

Very good win for us and vital three points against an opponent that wasnt easy. Jesus hit form at the right time. Hope Saka injury isnt as bad as it looked.

Yeah much better from us today, feared the worse after we conceded, but we bounced back really strong, reminded me more of arsenal from last season. Defence was shaky today, but as a team we seemed to work well to negate them having an off day and dominated in other areas until the defence sorted itself out a bit.
Hope Saka isn’t too bad, if Jesus continues his form we can probably muddle by in the next couple of games with him Trossard, Martinelli, Havertz and nwaneri hopefully stepping up. But could really do with him back for the Newcastle, Man U, spurs run!

Great Result. Palace put us under a lot of pressure and could gave scored 3 or 4 goals themselves but failed to take their chances but we took ours. Our defense looked very shaky in the 1st half not helped either by Raya with his passing out. However he did make a couple of great saves. Skelly played well but worried me when asked to mark Mateta but got through it.

Wouldn't say it was five star we looked flaky at the back at times. Good to see Jesus regaining his goal scoring touch. Good win all the same let's see what happens tomorrow. Hopefully Saka's injury ain't that bad.

He's a quality player but I don't think we have missed him that much Timber is very good in that position. Our shaky defence was due to how dodgy Gabriel and Saliba looked, also didn't help that Partey was looking isolated things improved when Rice came on.
