Sack Pep?

So it is obviously mental to suggest sacking Pep. The guy has done in it all and could easily go on some silly winning run that shoots them up the league.

BUT...

Is there a point at which you think City could actually sack him? If they were relegated you'd have to say yes but that clearly won't happen. But drop out of the CL and miss top 4 enough? Finish 8th? Finish bottom half?

What is the point at which he might actually go or does he get a free pass due to his success to date?

No chance they'll sack him!

They'll just go out in January and spend 00's of millions on a couple of players.

Subject to the outcome of the ffp case.....City will be fine next season. Rodri back and £250m spent on the squad and they will be a threat again.

Only a relegation, huge pts deduction or transfer ban will stop them coming back next season.

Enjoy their current plight whilst you can as I highly suspect it won't last much longer than a season as I don't think the PL panel have the balls to relegate them even if they are found guilty.

If the court case findings are released and it's bad I do wonder if he will walk. The self face harmer isn't coping well with a squad not packed so tightly with riches. He's not used to it and is struggling to get a tune out of a leggy ageing squad. They'll spend a wad in January before the panels decision is released. Then there will be an appeal, and this sickening sorry mess will drag on for another year.

Pep will decide when to leave.

What this season has highlighted however is Pep's poor judgement with loyalty towards players. It's not a bad trait, but sometimes as a manager you need to be ruthless, look ahead even if players have won league titles, the CL, and know it's time to sell and constantly rejuvenate.

As soon as the transfer window is opened
Another fortune will be spent
City start winning again
Problem fixed

Apart from City fans, who actually cares?

For me the main issue is the recruitment, so that's the director of footballs issue not Peps. Current side has peaked with the treble, and 4th title win, if they got the recruitment right then some momentum could have been carried on, they haven't though and now that plus injuries have left the squad exposed, and the results now speak for themselves.
