Sounds a silly question, but, if you ask our manager, it is not winning games. It is creating a mindset for future success and anyone who cannot understand it is far more stupid than him.
I disagree. Obviously, there should be some planning for the future etc, but I feel that is the director of football.
I want my manager planning how to beat the next team we face.
That brings me onto today. They have a very good and very direct international left winger up against Porro. Has our manager made a tactical plan for this. What do you think.
If Newcastle keep banging the ball 20 metres behind Porro and we keep getting rinsed, is our manager fulfilling the role of a football manager.
Just seen the team, I think a few home truths have been said leading to first teams being left out in a huff. Could be illness, but who knows with this manager.

Well when we played them away earlier on in the season we dominated the game and should have won.
I thought we played really well and were unlucky with the result.
The condition that the squad is in today I think that if we get a point it will be a miracle.

Ange is the antithesis of the Brian Clough philosophy of being focused only on winning the next game.

One of the worst football cliches is the whole "only thinking about the next game". Complete lie and incompetence if true. Every manager should be considering the list of upcoming fixtures and ensuring players are adequately rested. Plus scouting reports and planning is done well in advance. It's such an empty platitude to not look like you're counting your chickens.

Ange doesn't convince me he does any homework on the opposition. I think we just have to hope and pray today that Newcastle have an off day in front of goal, while we have a good day in front of theirs. Can't see that with Werner playing.
