Too much power

Are we starting to go back down that road again where the manager wields too much power in the transfer strategy the club follows. We had that problem with Wenger too many times we were indecisive in the market because Wenger couldn't make up his mind about players. Feels like we are going down a similar route now with this manager we've heard this window the winger he really wants is Nico Williams but that deal can't be done for whatever reason. I get you should not just buy a player for the sake of it he has to be the right player but have they not heard of putting a list of backups together if the first target is not attainable. It feels like the attitude is oh well we will wait till the summer when the reality is we need bodies now and the season is teetering on the brink of collapse. The manager surely can't have the mindset it's fine too wait until the summer he should be under pressure now from those above and if not why is he not, one of the highest paid managers around he's got to deliver and it doesn't look like he can.

He is done now.

His best chance of winning anything was last year.

Time to move him on in the summer

The grand question, who comes in to replace him? But before that, does the board get rid?

Let's see who replaces Edu and how that affects the balance of power. Hopefully Edu is to blame for all our woes.

Seems like there could be a good chance that the interim guy might be in with a chance of getting it full time. If indeed there is a power struggle going on then hiring the guy who's on work experience doesn't seem like the best idea whoever gets the job has to have some experience in the bank so that firstly they can actually do the job properly and have enough sway to hold those to account that need to be.

Does there? Last I heard we were actively seeking a replacement from outside the club and Jason has no chance whatsoever.

Last I heard they were impressed with him and he was a viable candidate.

You signed 4 squad players when a killer number 9 might have won you the league and possibly a cup too.

Awful from Arteta and the club.

From what I've read it appears that Arteta will have a strong say in the recruitment, which I don't think is necessarily a good thing.

Yes that's the problem Arteta should be reporting into the DOF not the other way round. They obviously need to have a good working relationship but people need to be held to account and I don't think they can when an employee is picking his boss.

We’re not starting - we’re already way too far down this path. The manager is a dictator.
