Have to say I am of same opinion OP

The guy has made real dubious decisions in the games I have watched

It wasn’t a great display, but I think the focus should be on cheating players and the effects that it has when managers send their players out to behave in the way arsenal did yesterday.

It’d be lovely if referees get everything right, but while players will so readily cheat, I think it’s unlikely.

Arsenal fans will tell you that's for all the years of biased referring against them since 1992.

Not too bad I thought. I'd be happy to have him next round.

Love how bamboozled United fans are when decisions go against them.

They're clearly not used to it. Last night was nothing. We've had around 7 or 8 worse ref performances than that this season alone.

The refs hate Wolves

I thought he was bad but I didn't think he was worth talking about this much. It was a tough match to ref and admittedly he made it worse for himself but I don't think he hugely changed the outcome vs if we had VAR. The Jesus foul on Fernandes was a crazy one to miss, but not something VAR would have changed, from my understand of its usage.

The pen was also a bad call, but I'm not totally convinced VAR would have overturn that either - we've seen plenty of pens where the striker goes out of their way to make contact, but because there is contact VAR won't say it's an obvious error. Perhaps with VAR he'd have just let play go and defer to VAR, but either way I think the penalty save and how amped up it got you guys ended up working in your favour.

I think the red card was the right decision.
