The biggest compliment you can pay MLS is that he looks better than Ashley Cole.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jenius, fair comment if you're comparing 18yr old Cole and him atm but Cole had a rapid improvement scale after his debut, you'll know better but I seem to remember that Cole was 18 as well when he debuted or around that age?
Whatever, Miles has a great future if handled correctly
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was comparing them at the same age. Cole was getting sent on loans. But I also had skill set in mind. Cole was a converted winger so he was faster. Whereas mls is a converted cm so has a bit more intelligence and power. For me that is a bigger plus in the long term. I think it's better for the team if you prevent attacks from developing rather rescuing a situation with pace and a last ditch tackle.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair comment, I was unaware that Myles was a converted CMI didn't think he was 18 as well, really looks strong and physical, will he stay at LB do you think or revert to CM later?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know Dj is a fan of his in MF but honestly there are very good CMs at England level who have a little more about them in that position.
I feel he has found a position he has been able to adjust to because he is very intelligent. (Which is a prerequisite for all Arteta players imo). For me, he is already on par, if not a little better than a 5 year older and £40m player, Timber. Why change?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeh, if it ain't broke dont fix it? would solve an issue you've had at LB without any incurred costs and he's only 18 so will just get better
----------------------------------------------------------------------
we already spent £40M on one though

My argument would be the #8 role is broke and needs fixing, while the LB role has lots of good options when Calafiori, White and Tomiyasu () are fit.
Interesting to see Declan Rice compare him to Moussa Dembele, and imho MLS can improve the midfield with his ball carrying, strength and passing ability. The LB inversion role limits him a fair bit imo.

Number #8 has Rice and Merino ahead of him. I think it will be easier for him to get minutes right where he is, assuming Zinny, Tomi, Kiwior will probably all leave in Jan or summer.

I am not talking about easy minutes though, I am taking about where he would be at his very best and make the most improvement to our team. Merino is awful and Rice is not great at #8.

Rice is very good at everything Arteta wants at #8 apart from finishing. Though that seems to be a problem throughout the team, atm. I doubt Arteta moves him back to #6 if Zubimendi rumours are true. Merino, Rice and probably Havertz will be in the mix #8. I hope we can move on Merino but I doubt that will happen as it seems he was key to getting Zubimendi. I fear Havertz wages are way too high to move on and he can be a backup to striker as well.
I have seen MLS, left back, and is excellent. I have not seen him #8, so I cannot say whether he will be good at that or not. It maybe a position he could develop into, but as I said above. MLS is happy, and he has a bright future at England level as well at left back. Why change?

Who says he has a bright future at England level? Does Tuchel play inverted left back or will he prefer the impressive, more natural left back Lewis Hall long term?

Plus Arsenal shouldn't be at all concerned about England. The England midfield is pretty average anyway, Mainoo is a star man for them, the massively overrated Angel Gomes starts and even Connor Gallagher gets game time

Tuchel will likely have to play an inverted left back if he is to accommodate Bellingham and Palmer.

Even if you ignore England, MLS will want minutes if he is going to stay. Far more likely at left back with Zinny, Tomi and Kiwior on the way out. Calafiori the main backup to Gabriel.

Heaven needs to sign a new contract as well and he has the same issue. We need to keep him.
