Was chatting to a Villa fan in a pub in Brum last Saturday after the Arsenal game, he actually works for the club, originally as a Referee's escort but the PGMOL decided that it wasn't a good look so now its called tunnel security, so he hangs around the tunnel looking menacing and scaring people off. Annoying to see the optimism around their fanbase but understandable and in stark contrast to where we are right now.
It's not all good news for them though, Jhon Duran looks set to be off to play pub football in Saudi in return for £64m. And they are fighting off Arsenal according to reports who are after Watkins.
But despite having had our admission prices benchmarked against the Champions League last 16 club, we find ourselves unable to make the changes to our squad that will help fight off relegation. That could of course change dramatically over the next few days.
Joao Gomes misses out after his 2 yellows last weekend. JSL will also miss this and probably more games after coming off injured. Mario Lemina remains unavailable for selection. Pereira says that he doesnt want to change the formation of the side with Larsen out so must look for options in the striker position - Guedes or Hwang maybe?
I reckon that this could be closer than many would predict, Villa have shown signs of fatigue after CL fixtures and the relief of top 8 qualification may still be in their minds and bodies. If we can keep the derby day atmosphere positive, who knows we could scrape a draw!

I don't think playing 9 men against Liverpool will work cinci.

The main thing that worries me is the waiting for the winnable games to come around. It's been weird this season his the fixtures have fallen for us, usually over a season you get a reasonable mix of the rough and the slightly smoother. But we've had two batches of tough which haven't allowed us to get any real momentum. I know all clubs play each other twice over a season but when you haven't got one of the strongest squads in the league having a two sustained periods of batterings hurts confidence and undoubtedly has created unrest in the squad. The Villa win was so important, effectively bonus points but not only that it gives us some hope that we have improved and are capable of keeping clean sheets. I just how that the belief can sustain through until March. Not that we should go into Liverpool, Bournemouth and Fulham without belief, we absolutely should but we really didn't play like a side that thought it could compete with arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle or Forest recently. That's got to change.

Nobody predicted that Ipswich were going to beat Spurs and then Chelsea did they? Make no mistake, they are a team that are more than capable of putting pressure on us later in the season.
Leicester and Southampton I think already have one foot in the Hawthorns next season.

Pereira has been in charge for 8 league games now. Some against teams in the upper end of the league and some in the lower end. We've got 10 points from those 8 games. If we maintain that level of results for the rest of the season we would get another 17 points that would take us up to 36 points at the end of the season.
To finish above us Leicester or Ipswich would then need to get 20 points from their last 14 games. That would require top half of the table form. They could do it, but I don't think they will

Interesting little quiz on the Wolves website called ‘Match up’. You’re asked a few questions then it matches your personality with a Wolves player with the most similar traits. Can it reveal what fellow posters and Wolves players are really like?

Wolves game at Blackburn on Sunday will be shown on BBC iPlayer. The last time Wolves won the cup was 1960 when they beat Blackburn 3-0.
Be good to see our new signings get a game. Munetsi has taken Lemina’s number 5 shirt. Dijga will be number 34

In his press conference today Pereira said it was best that Lemina left. From Vitor’s first day at the club Mario had made it clear he didn’t want to stay.
He would not commit to whether the two new signings would play on Sunday. He said it was difficult because they had only spent a couple of sessions training with the squad. He did say though that today Munetsi had done more running than anyone and is clearly fit and very mobile.
