Well that was schitter than even I imagined and I tipped us to lose 4-1 pre kick off.
We now go into an FA cup game at Villa with 2 trophies left on offer - lose Sunday and it’s just the Europa. My big immediate fear is that we stick with this guy until the summer. That would be a disaster in my opinion, players aren’t improving, we’re picking up injuries left right and centre, we’re not going to win anything, we won’t be in Europe next season and the fan base will continue to be divided.
Of all the mistakes Levy has made over the years, holding on to Ange is possibly his worst, it’s driving the club backwards. Levy is getting conned by the odd big win from Ange and thinking we’ve turned a corner - we haven’t, as we come crashing back down to earth quickly.
I love the team and will always support them - this is one of the toughest times I can remember though, we’re really schitt and the manager is clueless
Now that the dust has settled

I think Levy has hit a wall and thought fak it, I'm not sacking another one. Even he realises sacking manager after manager doesn't work.
I dunno if Ange is the right man or not but with each defeat it is more clearer, he has been left short to fulfill the expections of the fans.
You could tell last night Liverpool suffacated us. Why? Because Slot was given a ready made squad to work with. He has had the luxury to rest Van Dyke, Salah, Trent ect over the last couple of weeks.
Son looked shattered yday. Kulu under par, all of them did. But there are enough players to build something with in the future.
No one should be shocked or spitting their dummy out after last night. We lost to a class team. Because most of you spent years fighting with their board you won't admit it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's such a stupid reason for keeping a failing manager on though. Each manager should be judged on their own merits not kept on because it hasn't worked out in the past, which is not even true anyway. We've had good managers in the past that we had to sack someone for in order to get them in that position.
It's a good squad overall with a lot of youthful promise but while Ange is here it's being wasted on someone clearly out of their depth and does not know what to do with it or get the best out of it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Stupid reason?
Ask Newcastle fans if they were stupid for keeping Howe. Forest for keeping Nuno. They finished 17th last season.
Patience and stop being so trigger happy lol.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
really good point
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It isn't though, he's using examples who have improved their teams in a smaller time frame than Ange. 'Improved' by the way, not made worse.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yes, but it is better to give Ange time, as we have not recruited him for short time period but to rebuild the side which alway takes time. With LFC, they aid the ground work for Slot during Klopp, and all the players etcs were changed to suite Slot. So they had continuity. With us, our best players left as soon as Poch left, Vertonghen etc
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The project isn't working under him though is it? 18 months on players are dropping like flies to injury, form is shiiiit, we're losing in cup semi finals by big margins, the manager is getting grouchy with interviewers regularly. One giant dump of a campaign.
In order to give managers patience they have to show you a reason to make you patient with them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Zero evidence of progress and plenty of evidence to argue we are regressing.
He has Archie Gray playing in every position bar his actual position. Our best player currently - Djed Spence was a complete afterthought for most the season. Bergvall can’t get in the side even when playing well. We have no idea how to manage Mickys hamstrings. Hyuk was signed and loaned immediately, Veliz has been jettisoned, same with Phillips, same with Lankshear.
It’s a complete mess
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed. Everything points to a manager who is clueless and when it goes right, it's almost out of luck.
Ange is poor when it comes to rotation, poor when it comes to subs most of the time, poor when it comes to handling injuries, poor when it comes to leading, poor when it comes to training (doesn't work on certain aspects) and his one major strength of delivering inspiring and uplifting speeches seems like it must have dried up as we don't even start 2nd halves well when things are going against us.
I honestly think on top of this, the way he is so tetchy with interviewers, it surely must also transfer to his own players and staff to some degree. Harry Redknapp made a point I heard on the radio about how Ange is just stood there on the touchline and not getting help from his team. Maybe they're just afraid to put their ideas across to him because of how irritable he gets?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I hate watching him on the sideline, just passive as faaaack with his arms crossed and faaaack all to say for himself.
Staring at the floor in interviews, not conducting training himself, not joining the players in the dressing room - why would you ever want to pull the stops out for him?
Should be sacked today - but we all know levy will try to hang on until the summer

Fair play to him I guess for hoodwinking Tel with an inspiring and uplifting speech over the phone. Only decent thing he has managed to do this year.
There have been about 3 or 4 occasions he should have been sacked now and after yesterday's disgrace it has cancelled out the Brentford win and made me practically past the idea of giving him the chance to let players return to try and turn league form around. Reality is he probably wont and he won't even get all the key players back from injury this season anyway.
Just get rid and find an adequate interim until a move for Iraola in the summer, unless a move right now is viable.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I hate other fans giving it the big un and talking chit on the internet
Stay humble
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We are being humbled enough by all the losses from this terrible manager.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Playing the victim card now? Z z z z
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If being a disgruntled fan for months of shiiite form and a hammering to Liverpool to end our best chance of winning anything this season makes me a victim then yeah sign me up.

I watched the match with my kids last night and haven't seen any of the following stuff from the club or on here or read any reports since either so I'm not aware of what's being said. Certainly not reading all of the above which will be the usual predictable vitriol.
But my view on the game is that too many of our big players simply failed to show up and in particular Bentancur and Son. Both offered nothing, no quality, no calm, no leadership. Sons body language was shocking. There was a moment at 1 or 2 nil when a pass from a team mate went behind him and out of play. He should have been absolutely bollocking him for messing up a simple pass. He j stead dropped his head and looked miserable. Dunno what's going on with Son but he needs taking out of the firing line.
My other thought was that I bet Ange is sitting there annoyed with himself he did not stick with his principles. He tried to play Conte ball and LFC picked us off. Let's face it they played very well again but I think that if we had pushed on a bit more, pressed and harassed them with everything we had, showed the aggression they did then we may have knocked them off their very confident stride. Instead it was the sort of passive stuff we saw under Conte.
I would have preferred and I think Ange would have preferred to have gone down swinging. But when you go out with that defensive mindset, to retreat not step on to the opposition, 1 goal against will be a mortal blow.
What disappoints me most is that we didnt turn up and this has been a problem for 2 decades and more. It was the toughest of asks, made harder by injuries but we didn't show up, we weren't brave, we let it happen.
To finish on Ange, last night is the opposite of Angeball and I much prefer us to go full tilt, risks and all, than half measures. I think Ange will be angry with himself he didn't stick to his principles and I think he will not do that again this season, so we can expect to see us go at teams, like he wants us to and hope it pays off but it may also be a total mess. Ange should go down swinging, he's 2 nil down with 15 minutes left in his time at Spurs and he's gonna have to ace it to survive.

I think he is in injury time rather than the last 15 - the last few Ange in holdouts on places like The fighting cooooock and Spurs community are turning now as well
