Leeds Utd 4 Watford 0

Highlandwhite Matchday Thread ================================================

Kick off Tuesday 7.45 Live on Sky Sports +

Welcome to matchday 32 and to our 3rd game in 7 days.

Team News
Leeds
Max and Paddy's road trip travels to the treatment room again with Wober out until the end of March.
Watford
Missing Kwadwo Baah, Pierre Dwomoh and Daniel Bachmann.
Rocco Vata and Caleb Wiley are major doubts, but leading scorer Vakoun Bayo is set to return after suspension.

Only line up conundrum will be who partners Tanaka in midfield, Gruev, Rothwell or Ampadu who will be the only certain starter from Saturday's game.

Watford have only taken 5 points from their last 6 games.
No doubt this could be a tough game but a winnable one. Going 2.1 Leeds.

Tanaka's an absolute football god.

How the fck did no one else see his talent before us?
Absolute steal of a signing. Cool as cucumber.
And Prem ready.

Batty, the way the 49ers work, they check the stats of all they're looking at, and when they think they'll do what is needed they go get them!..

No way they'll be looking at names being branded about here, they have their way and look for the unexpected!..

Just caught up with most of the game.

Such a high tempo, fitness levels are incredible and playing fabulous football.
Cant see our next 3 opponents playing an attacking game so fair play to Watford.

Away support is the very best and finally was like listening to Watford tv commentators.

What a great performance and +47 means another point really.

My man of the match is probably Aaronson. What’ a Duracell he is.

Going to sleep with a smile on my face tonight!!

We're not just beating teams at present. We're destroying them. Such a pleasure to behold. Dan James has looked a different player under Farke. After a shaky start, Solomon has been fantastic. Ditto for Bogle. Firpo is more than a handful at this level. I thought Rodon looked out of sorts early in the season, but has been brilliant since. Ampadu back to his best tonight. I don't personally think playing our captain in the middle of defence unduly weakens our midfield. Tanaka so cool, Gruev plugging away doing the dirty work. Aaronson had one of his better games tonight, was impressed. For all the stick he takes, Piroe showed what he's all about tonight with finish. Sheer quality. And yes Meslier with a possibly crucial save at 2-0. Great team performance 👏👏👏👏

The hard work shouldn't be underestimated either. Even at 4-0 it was evident how determined they all were not to concede.

Millwall game? What Millwall game?

Not saying there definitely won't be a couple of hiccups along the way, but i'll be amazed if we don't win this league.

Just a note caution WaS…

After 32 games last season, Leicester were same games played and 12 points AHEAD of us on 78 points after 5 wins on the bounce. 6 games later, and after 38 games Leeds were top, level with Leicester on 82 points (albeit that Leicester had a game in hand).

The moral of the story is there clear for us all to see.

Yes Leicester went up as champions, but boy, that can’t have been good for the hearts of Leicester fans, to witness such a calamitous collapse.

Oh i know it's not all over yet, not by a long way. As i said, there may be a couple of hiccups to come.

However, there are several reasons for my confidence. We just look head & shoulders above what, it has to be said, is a relatively weak Championship. And we only look to be improving.

Sheffield United struggled to overcome Portsmouth at home, not the first time they've been fortunate lately. Burnley are still in the cup with a great chance to reach the quarter finals against a local rival from t'other side of Pennines. This may prove a big distraction. Sunderland are still a danger but we have a huge opportunity on Monday to deliver a huge blow to their hopes.

After almost 50 years since watching my first game at Elland Road, and being present at every single play-off disaster, i'm not taking anything for granted. But i'm finding it hard to argue with what my eyes are telling me.

Thanks for the MDT Earl and another great win👍

Saying the Championship is weak, is that not taking a bit of credit away from our team?..

I find this team better than last seasons but seeing what some are saying suggests it isn't!..
