Were fckd!

Until the current owners sort themselves out & sack the sporting directors!

Until that happens we are going to continue to be inconsistent.

Imo, the issue is the Clearlake Moneyball strategy is never going to return the club to either a C/L level or a top 4 level club.

The only positive is that the clubs financial structure cannot survive in the long run with out C/L level income, so as some point somethings going to have to give.

Lets hope that it is sooner rather than latter.

If we dont get a return to the C/L this season, the pressure will be on big time next season, despite what they say.

The clubs finances will dictate what these guys do.

yeah, but honestly Flash can you see us outplaying

Forrest, City, Villa & Newcastle ?

When considering the all of the issues we face with this run in?

Personally I think that we dropped the ball to the point were not getting the advantage back with the time left this season!

Try having the current United owners 😭

Forget City, they will get a spot.

Villa are 5pts behind you, Newcastle a couple behind unpredictable and the teams above you I'd expect Bournemouth to struggle and Forest will struggle to continue going so well.

Not a done thing for any of those teams really but Chelsea have at least as good as a 50/50 chance of top 5. You would hope that's you had your recent blip.

How quickly things change, Southampton away we were singing "we've got our Chelsea back" …..Southampton home protest against the owners arranged at Bovril Gate before the game lol.

After last seasons progress was expecting a top four challenge this season whoever was in charge.

Won't be a better season to achieve that given the inconsistency and struggles of so many teams but we are doing our level best to screw it up.

It's not that bad, I mean look at Utd, we're actually well and truly fcked.

Common denominator...American owners.

I dunno why fans go after our sporting directors? The underling strategy comes from Clearlake.

Winstanley, Stewart & Shields didn't come in & convince Clearlake to operate like this, they got hired to operate like this! They're guilty of being yes men but I don't blame them, why wouldn't they be when anyone who disagrees with these guys gets exiled? Tuchel, Vivell, Pochettino, Boehly, etc...

Devil,
In our context, i will explain it!

Clearlake Boehley are by profession / business

Investment Venture capital bankers.

The have no single clue about professional elite football & they are also American, a country where soccer is not football.

These type of ownerships are only as good as the advice they are given, as they know fck all about soccer.

In our context they have devised a moneyball strategy which is driven by numbers/ accounts & finance , it has zero to do with sound football knowledge on how to run an multi Bln pound footballing institution.

The crime here is that the sporting directors have supported their moneyball experiment / strategy.

They should have told them " err governor, the way you want to run this club will not allow your manager to develop your side in a way that will create you a highly effective competitive top 4 level side or a side which will challenge at a top level in Europe.

The way you want to do it is a pot luck approach, very hit or miss , you'd best keep your fingers crossed.

But instead they have indulged them and carried out there bidding for them. They should have known better.

Dev, cont,

The point that they are yes men is the issue!

Yep, and my point is if they did advise them properly (the harsh truth that a successful football team isn't contrasted the way hedge fund's enjoy operating) Clearlake would go "ah, I see, there's the door then". Their removal solves absolutely nothing.

I'd argue there's a case developing that Marseca's also a yes man, I don't want him gone anytime soon either.
