Mbappe is absolutely a generational talent.

He's not an all time great like Messi or Ronaldo, but he's absolutely in the top 3/4 players currently playing.

There's still people doubting Mbappe?

I quite like both Vinicius and Mbappé. Both have spoken quite eloquently about race / racial abuse in football / scapegoating politics. For me that speaks louder than acting arrogantly on the pitch.

Cristiano always seemed like an egocentric jerk to me.

With you nearly all the way.

I do have some niggling doubts regarding Mbappé as a teammate due to his behaviour at times in Paris. Early days yet, but we've had no such nonsense so far at Madrid.

Mbappe has always flattered to deceive for me, he has all the raw attributes and talent to be great, but talk of him taking the mantle from the likes of Messi and Ronaldo are crazy talk.

Very good player, not a generational talent. I've always thought Vini was the better of the two tbh,

Ie, being one of the most talented, influential players of his generation so far

As others said he may not be Messi or Ronaldo but just takes us to the debate that Messi and Ronaldo are aliens that shouldn’t be held as benchmark for all players, even the most talented. Maybe we never see another Messi and Ronaldo for another 10-20 years.

Mbappé's career stats would put him among the all-time greats if he retired now, at 26 years of age. He's on track to obliterate the all-time goal scoring record for France - a list featuring some all-time greats and steadily overtaking auspicious names on the CL goal scoring charts. But he's also been pretty consistent at raising his game on the biggest stage. Man of the match when knocking out Argentina in the 2018 World Cup and joined Pele as a teenage goal scorer in the final. Golden Boot at the next World Cup, where he also became the leading WC final goal scorer. Despite Argentina winning the final (as I had hoped) and all the drama of that classic match, my lasting memory is Mbappé's equalising second goal: the almost savage certainty of the strike, which wasn't at all technically easy. At a minimum, he's one of the best players of his generation.

(And no shame in being in Axel Tuanzebe's pocket in that PSG-United match. He's not the first and not the last.)

Rashford unfairly treated. If Mbappe went to United he would be utter pants too.
