Death

Unrelated but has anyone here ever lost a brother at a young age?
My brother was 39. He passed away last week after a cardiac arrest.

He was a big Newcastle fan and me and him used to watch football together any time it was on TV, any game, didn't really matter who was playing to be honest.
We played so much FIFA together, against our other brother.. I'll definitely miss those days.

How do you get over it? I've lost family before, but not someone that had so much of their life to live, someone that left 3 really young children behind, left his wife behind.

I went back to work two days after he died, as I can't sit around and mope, but it's those moments when you're alone at home, sitting on the sofa, when all the feelings just hit you all over again.

I don't think I could ever get over this. Fack. I'm literally ruined. My family is distraught.

Sorry to hear this. Take time off if it is affecting you. Sometimes you need time to process these things.
by the way, Ali, are you Muslim?

Sorry to hear.
For myself, who lost his wife, you don't get over it, but it gets easier. Most days become ok, but there will always be days you are sad.
Everyone has to go through it at sometime, it won't be exactly the same for all.

I was in a very depressive state when I wrote this but I've read all the replies and every single one of them means a lot.
Thank you all and I hope you're all doing well in health.

Good to hear that. And it's cool. Sometimes you need an outlet. Take care.

Glad it helped, there's good support here if you ever need it (despite the regular nonsense and mud slinging on most pages!).

Sorry to hear that you lost your brother.

I haven't lost anyone that close to me yet fortunately, so I can't claim to know how it feels, but I imagine just trying to keep active and letting their death give your life more meaning is what might make things easier.

Just don't expect as many comments as an article about what Robb had for dinner.
