Returns to scoring ways. I'm sure that's the reason Maresca started him, to get him out of the rut (otherwise, why risk it), no better opposition than a pıss easy Copenhagen.
Finding out how tough it is without the fulcrum Nico to dovetail & outlet in attack, huh.
Palmers' last goal was when Nico handed it to him on a silver platter against Bournemouth - https://drive.google.com/file/d/15IiCgd909CaG4_KtJw-YPK-mxsJY7Hv6/view?usp=sharing
In fact all of Palmers goals assisted by Nico, have been laid on a plate for him.
Incidentally without Nico in the side the high quality chances created have dropped like a stone. Plummeted.
"Palmer FC" though, right?
This was supposed to be the match Palmer..

Eight games in all competitions without a direct goals contribution for Palmer and he should have has a couple where he should have squared it to Nkunku, which springs to my mind.
We can get away with playing fringe players again in the second leg...
Doesn't take much quality to beat Copenhagen

Has he been injured or something? Might take him out of my team

You would like to think so, however, that first half display last night suggests otherwise, creativity, tempo or urgency were non-existent in what was an absolutely horrible 45 mins.
At least Maresca made the necessary changes at half time so credit to him for that but couldn't really have complained if Copenhagen had got a draw when we got lucky with the ball off the post straight back to Sanchez even before they were given a lifeline with the free header.
He may well do the same again at home but personally would rather start stronger in an attempt to get the game done early and then rest players if we can.
Might have been different if we had come away with a two goal lead but not sure he will trust going as fringe as that first half line up.
Big shout out to the Copenhagen fans, wonderful support for the entire 90mins.
Finally is it just me or was that Ref really poor last night?
