Brilliant stuff! We grew into that game. Defensively solid. Did you even remember that Haaland was on the pitch? Elated at this result! It’s not done yet but this is a massive step towards CL football next season. This has to reignite belief after some of the results last month. Before this result, I thought we can finish in the top 4. I definitely think we will now. Job done for today. Time to sit back, relax and watch the other results now. Hopefully some go our way

After our emphatic 3-0 win over West Ham on November 2nd, we found ourselves 3rd in the league after 10 games. Many dismissed it as a fluke, expecting us to tumble down the table and settle for mid-table mediocrity at best.

The doubters thought the bubble had burst after back-to-back 3-0 defeats to Arsenal and Man City. But instead of collapsing, we responded with seven consecutive victories in all competitions, followed by a commendable draw against Liverpool. Then came the humiliating 5-0 defeat to Bournemouth, and once again, we were told we had been "found out."

But this team refused to fold. On February 1st, we wiped Brighton 7-0—a statement performance. The question was: would we push on from here, or was another collapse coming?

Looking at the fixtures, I had circled March 8, 2025, as the decisive moment—when we’d know whether the Champions League dream was real. But then came defeats to Fulham and Newcastle, followed by a narrow escape against Exeter. The team looked tired, and I feared that was it—the end of the dream.

Then something changed. A clean sheet against Arsenal signaled the return of our defensive resolve. We made hard work of the Ipswich game, but today—today brought back memories of our victory over Liverpool in September.

Because we have just beaten Man City for the first time since 1995.

And we are still 3rd in the league.

By the end of March, we could still be in 3rd place and in the FA Cup semi-finals.

So I ask again—dare we dream?

Just Villa (A) and Chelsea to go in the top ten.
