Well done Newcastle

Currently 6th in the league (11pts behind Arsenal) all without the additional strain of European football.

And when they did have European football to consider, they didn’t even make it out of their group, and finished 7th in the league.

First trophy in 70 years, and it’s the one taken least seriously by all PL teams.

Winning mentality. Hilarious.

But they now have a trophy which is what football is all about and they can build on it.
But Arsenal being 11 points ahead etc etc will make more money. In fact finishing 4th will probably bring in more prize money than winning the League Cup.

Arsenal have not won this trophy for 32 years and counting

At the end of the day it's about winning silverware and it's taken Newcastle 70 years. It might be the one the PL Clubs take the least seriously but alot of Clubs are so desperate for silverware it means everything. It can be the start of something better. As a Villa fan we haven't won this since 96. Even longer for Arsenal. I want to win it again.

Nobodies Grandchildren are gonna care when your talking about finishing 2nd/3rd/4th/3rd/4th/2nd every season with nothing else. They wanna see Grandads medals not talk about Champions League Spots and extra revenue.
