Today was clearly not good enough, especially in that second half, but I think it's far too early at present to give up in Amorim.
After spending a lot to sack Ten Hag and get him in then he at least needs a full season to show what he's made of with his own team.
That's where those above him have to deliver in terms of the Summer windown. No matter who the manager is at present the Premier League requires players that are athletic and/or physical to be able to compete properly.
I've mentioned a few times that I don't think the squad is terrible but we do need to raise the level in the first XI and, at the very least, make ourselves an awkward and difficult team to play against.
Competency in goal and up front would also change the narrative a lot IMO so I'm hoping against hope we have players lined up for Summer now so that we hit the ground running. Momentum is a powerful thing and if early results go your way then things can happen. When was the last time we had a strong start?
There have been signs recently we have been improving in some aspects so I'd like that to continue but with three/four more suitable players. A mixture of young up and coming and seasoned pros would be great.
If it's still like this in April 2026 though then that would be the time to ask serious questions. By then though I think we'll be pleasantly surprised by the progress.
We're also winning the Europa too, by the way.
We need to give it time

He’s made us far far worse. Sack him and get Xavi.

That was probably because we played Southampton, Ipswich and Leicester in those games.

Everton too but fair point.
I think it's just because he has more time on the ball in general and has space to move into with and without the ball as well playing a bit deeper.
We haven't looked as much of an attacking threat since and we've played most of those teams again since then.

Could do that by playing him on the wing and playing a back four. But this Portuguese cuuuunt insists on this shiiiiiit formation. Can’t wait until he’s sacked, LVG and Mourinho’s football was more entertaining than this.
Facking Idi Amorin’s terrorist football can fack off.

Amad was getting into better positions to create and score playing as a wing-back for Amorim than he ever did playing as a winger for Ten Hag in a back four.

Barely played under him tbf.

He still played more minutes this season for Ten Hag at right wing than he has at wing-back under Amorim tbf.

But it’s still small sample size. There’s a big sample size to show three at the back is facking shiiiiit.

This is the fourth season in a row that we've struggled to score goals. We haven't scored more than 58 league goals in a season since Ole's last full season in 20/21.
We need better attacking players in every aspect: ability, power, aggression, decision making.
Until we have that, it doesn't really matter who the manager is. You can't win games at PL level without quality attacking options. Cunha and Delap would be excellent upgrades at LF & CF. Another option at RF so that Amad can play RWB wouldn't hurt either (Dibling, Lookman...?).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Here lies the problem.
Amad, a great attacking talent, at wing BACK.
This guy shouldn't be anywhere near defence, and I can tell you now in Rubens system, this guy will be the right back for large portions of many games.

Amad is ready made for the RF role, and that's ideally where I would want him in this formation.
But for more or less the same reasons as everyone else that doesn't like the 3-4-2-1, I'd rather see us use a proper attacking player in at least one of the WB positions (which is what Amorim did at Sporting) so as to offer more threat going forward.
Amad was playing brilliantly in that position so it at least gives us one way of getting an extra attacker on the pitch.
