English dominance in Europe

Across the 3 European competitions, there’s strong showing for English teams. Spanish also have representation across all 3 as well. Italians miss out on EL.
You can always count on the Spanish teams to do well in Europe whatever the season.
But very interesting given how, for each English club playing in Europe, they’ve been below their expected standards in the PL.
This season in PL, the title race has been non existent, leading many to speak out how weak the season has been. Liverpool did what they had to, perhaps peaked too early in the season to carry on their domestic form over to Europe.
But European form for Utd & spurs in particular has probably balanced out where they really should be. It’s been a disaster of a season for both in the league. Given their squad values/wages especially. For Chelsea, if they get top 5, then they’ll be the one team to have achieved their domestic target. But that looks tricky given the competition.

We could have 3 English winners in Europe this season, I’ll take it.

Not a mystery at all, the traditional big euro team have all been very poor this season.

It goes to show how overrated Liverpool are, that they’ve gone out of Europe so early.

It will be interesting to see how clubs react to the league phase next season. Some of the bigger clubs in the CL and Europa really had stinkers and that facked them over. Porto and Roma, for instance, put themselves together and in a section with Bilbao.

Also interesting to note in both the CL and EL the teams who finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the league made the semi finals. Top in each flopped out. In Conference it was 1st, 3rd and 5th. Shows the league stage is a good indicator and it pays to take it seriously.

Football is generally very poor nowadays.

I think the way the league season has panned out has helped English sides in Europe. Arsenal, Spurs and United don’t have anything else to play for, all 3 have been able to go weak and save themselves for Europe. Arsenal are guaranteed CL qualification and United and Spurs will def stay up and not qualify for Europe via the league - we will probably be woeful Monday night at home to Forest.

Chelsea are just massively overpowered in their competition - Djurgarden in a Euro semi, faaaack me - I know we have Bodo but at least they are Norwegian champions and have beaten Porto and Lazio already

Man Utd seem to always dominate stats in the EL since we won it and fail to win it. Last time we won the EL, we sacked a dutch FA Cup winning manager for a Portuguese manager.

I should say we won the EL with Mourinho after sacking LVG. Now we sacked ETH, can Amorim do it?

With Slabrahimovic leading the line, anything can happen
