Serie A - final fight

Serie A is headed to a final match to decide who can be the only one, Highlander style.

If finished on the same points at the end of the season (which they currently are) they’ll play a one off title decider - likely at the San Siro.

Had that scenario existed in 2012 when we finished level on points with City who would have won? Yes we played at their ground a couple of weeks before and lost but imo that was SAF being defensive and playing for a draw. In a one off game would we have won the title?

Quite a few European leagues have for decades had a title decider in event of points tie. I attended such a match to decide the Russian league title in 1996 (Spartak Moscow beat Alania Vladikavkaz, since you ask).

Back to Serie A, Scott McTominay scored the only goal as Napoli closed the gap on Inter this weekend. He has been a magnificent signing for Napoli, now with 9 league goals (most goals scored by a midfielder since Hamsik) and a genuine folk hero to the fans. Really glad for him.
