Tell us your barometer

Spurs are on the par to have one of the worst seasons, if not the worst season in the PL in modern history of the club, and yet the club in a twisted way, or in a uniquely Spursy way if you allow me the expression, is also on the verge of going to the final steps in Ropey league to lift this?

To guage where this if achieved would rank with you, please select

Give the article the following stars:

5: This makes no diff to how I am unhappy with the management, and I want them to go! don't care how.

4: The management are good, but the blame is with Levy who has failed to ensure quality recruitment in playing staff

3: I have nothing to add to the management situation, I am a Spurs fan who has lost feelings for the club

2: I think Ange and his staff are doing a brilliant work, and need time to re-build the team.

1: I am a Spurs fan who has lost feelings to Spurs and need heart resuscitation to survive being a Spurs fan

5. Plus not only does Ange need to go, irregardless of whether we win the Europa or not… but certain players also… we know who they are!!

4&5

I'm not happy with the manager but I'm not happy with Levy either. Ange and the squad are chit so who's fault is that?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I actually think we have a decent squad. Which of course is even more of an enditement on Ange's management skills.

Decent is relative I guess. The defence is probably CL quality when they're all fit and organized. Need to move on from Davies and Dragusin but yeah a solid base

Midfield is properly mid. Bentancur maybe gets in a CL squad the rest are potential or just not actually good enough

Forwards.. Kulusevski yeah he's a top player. Son used to be. The rest are all a bit meh/potential as well init

Out of the options available I'd have to pick 5. I'd be pleased to win a Europa but remain unhappy with the management, it's been shiite and winning a Europa isn't that great an achievement for Ange in the context of what it took to do. Europa is probably easier to win than the domestic cups this year. Seriously there's a reason we're out of those and still in this. He's had the new format, the tools, the sole focus (because we've done so poorly in everything else) and most importantly the time to progress this far in it.

Of course Europa would be a great achievement.

We have numerous fans on here (probably you included) saying we wouldn't get passed Frankfurt, that Frankfurt are far superior to Spurs and then when we do - which by the way we achieved by giving them their lowest Xg of the season in the first leg and then stopping them from scoring at home for the first time since March 24 in the 2nd leg - people start talking down the achievement.

Yes the domestic cups are tough and we went out to the Champions elect and away at Villa, both in the heights of an injury crisis. No shame in our domestic cup exists

ANY Trophy is a great achievement and should be treated as such.

Yeah it was a good win against Frankfurt, and it would require beating a decent team in the final to win it too; a top 4 Bilbao at home, or a Man United who like us, will be putting all their efforts into this competition, and who unlike us, have won a couple of trophies in the last 2 seasons.

Yes it's an achievement but it's not the sort of achievement that would warrant blowing smoke up Ange's backside. I mean we beat 4 teams in the run to the CL final more impressive than any we have or will face in this Europa.

This seems to be the fear of some, that if we win the Europa, some might have to be nice about Ange, or listen to him crow a bit about this achievement, or hear him say I told you so. Many have set their stall out for so long now that this "tactically inept" "loser" of a manager winning a trophy puts egg on their face, so they attempt to belittle what winning this trophy would be - "Europe's B level competition" a trophy "that is easier to win than the domestic cups" etc - so they don't have to pay any sort of complement to Ange through gritted teeth.

Remind me, in Poch's third season we were eliminated from the UCL at the group stage and then lost in the round of 32 in the Europa to Gent. Seems odd that a team of the quality of Poch's Spurs couldnt even get passed poor opposition. Because some here like to paint the picture that this b-level comp isnt all that, and beating some meh teams along the way is easily done.

We haven't got past the QFs in this competition in decades!

If we win it, massive kudos to Ange. Not only will it be a great achievement in its own right, but to do so in the circumstances where we have been shiiit for much of the season, to keep the squad together, all pulling in the same direction, where we will need to deliver quality performances like in the QF, when everyone doubts him and is talking about him going, where even our own fans cannot wish him well, it's an even greater achievement.

The third season with Poch was when we played European games at Wembley. A slight disadvantage to not play at your home ground I would say, considering we never lost once at WHL in the league all of that season.

Poch while this went on was overseeing a very good league campaign and because he was always going for something in each season in the league, that tended to serve as one of the priorities. Only in his last season did league form drop off for him and he was sacked for it pretty soon afterwards. Ange is the only manager since Ramos who has been allowed to continue a season where league form has looked rubbish and becomes almost secondary to some other competition.

I had been saying it's an easier competition to win for a while and would say it whoever is managing, although you might have a point. I want Spurs to win the Europa but I don't particularly like that it's Ange winning because I think he'd be lucky to have it on his CV compared to other better Spurs managers who were sacked for less.
