Thoughts from last night

Left watching my son's tennis matches last night to get back and watch the match.

Was a little worried at 1-0 that we needed to put this to bed, but that was ghost from results past, this a different side, those 1-0 leads thrown away are not so common these days.

The whole team played well, we even saw a forward pass from Gruev, but the pass of the match was Piroe's, it reminded me of that pass from Pablo, football genius and credit to Gnonto for choosing exactly the right finish for that.

After having Burnley celebrations rammed down our throats was great that we got our own night.

Dallas was the right person to have on pitch to help highlight the achievements that Farke has made and put them in similar light to Bielsa's.

Brilliant that Farke's name was sung loud and proud and I was in tears seeing those celebrations, the soaking of Farke, the hug with Eddie, Eddie and Harry, and Farke's words.

Let's be honest, not many managers have done us promotion and not many have achieved teh points that he has 2 years in a row with 2 team rebuilds and how humble was he. Nothing about him not putting any pressure on board, just a brilliant person and he has transformed teh team from one that was boring to watch at times to one that has achieved and is great to watch.

There is zero doubt in my mind that he should be leading us next season and it is an utter disgrace that Marathe did not join him pictchside and has not spoken publicly to endorse him.

Ive worked in corporate for long enough to know when management want you out, I've experienced it and seen it done to colleagues and I saw it last night, utterly, utterly shameful.

Thank you Leeds for giving us these moments, but thank you Farke for giving us sustained success over two seasons, for uniting players and fans as you said you would, for improving players, for handling tough situations and for not making it all about you, for "getting" Leeds and for succeeding where so so many have failed.

I cannot believe the board is acting this way, it is a disgrace they have not publicly backed Farke.
When he joined we were in a mess, he lost a lot of players and others wanting out.He sorted out the mess and got us back to being a class team.
This season he has produced a top class Championship side that has reached a record points total.
If the board don't back him and we slump next season they will set the club back years.
For goodness sake give the man a chance, he's earned it.

I said on another thread, you can bring in whoever you want, there is no guarantee they'll keep you up!..

Somebody has already said look at ManU and Spurs, like been said in other seasons, nobody has the divine right to go up, the same as nobody has the divine right to stay in any league!..

The right has to be earned, respected and properly backed, and sacking Farke after what he has done is a sham that'll show the club up for the wrong reasons!..

Long time since I asked Jonty but how is your lad doing at the tennis? I'd taken an interest because my great nephew was right into it but he seems to have since switched to padel, winning lots at U14 and got some sponsorship through winning at U15 and semis at U18 as well as representing the country. His dad seems to think the scene is better than the sh't that goes on in the tennis world!

The whole things was stage managed yesterday.

The coming out one at a time, the scarves on seats.

All Marathe has to do is come over, grab a mic and say:

"Wow! We feel so fortunate to be custodians of this great club, well done to the players, the back room staff, everyone at club and of course Daniel Farke for taking us back up in style, we couldn't have wished for more.

This is your night everyone, enjoy, and let's do this again next season!"

Your absolutely right Jonty but we're dealing with Americans here. Their brains aren't wired like that

You were worried? Watching a different match to me
It was so one sided, not a contest

Ironically Promotion could be right in his opinion of
Farke, we end up being relegated, so that would
confirm the theme of recent years where promoted
teams are relegated from the Premiership.

But it begs the question…would he be right but for
the wrong reasons?
Are the managers/coaches of relegated clubs all
poor coaches? I don’t think so.

More a case of the financial market in the football
pyramid…well we are a capitalist country, but that
doesn’t mean the policies are right for the football
industry…you would think the Premier League and
the media moguls would give every chance to
promoted clubs to the Premiership to succeed and
thrive…at least give them a fair chance…lets have
some ethics in the leagues pyramid.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I just hope and pray Promotion 2020 won't be changing his name to Relegation 2026

Five stars for an excellent post, Jonty.
