I am in the midst of a double challenge to raise funds for MS Society.
My late Uncle Jim battled MS for many years and sadly passed away just a couple of years ago. He was a season ticket holder at Celtic Park for a long time but almost signed for Rangers as a boy until they discovered what school he went to...
Anyway a few weeks ago I did the Glasgow Kiltwalk walking the 23 miles from Glasgow Green to Loch Lomond and in just under 2 weeks I'll be doing the Edinburgh Half Marathon but this time wearing a 20Kg weighted vest.
Today as part of my prep I covered 8 miles in my 20Kg vest. It was absolutely roasting but I was quite happy with my pace of only a few minutes over 2 hours.
Hopefully the Edinburgh Half Marathon will be a bit cooler as I add the extra 5 miles to the legs
I am almost at my target but if anyone would be able to donate any small amount for a great cause I'll be immensely grateful

Thank you. Very kind of you
and very kind of Silver. Maybe I should have got a vest weighing 18.88 Kg

Staunch!

Simply the vest? I think you’re onto semmit there.
I can do eight miles in a few minutes over two hours too.
If by ‘few’, you mean ‘two hundred and forty’.

I am not putting that on it
Appreciate the donations from all <lovehug>
My pace for the whole thing should be 3hrs 15mins. I can't see it being significantly quicker or slower - which is just as well as I looked at the website yesterday and it has a 3hr 15min cut off from the last person to start that probably goves me a 5 minute margin No pressure

Oo er sweaty pics of me stripping is not a sight many want to see again
I'm not really a football shirt wearer aside from going to the game or playing 5's or 7's. I'll have a boring Strikeback gym tshirt underneat the vest

Cheers. It was a good event. Was expecting rain and instead got sunburn on my head
I clocked 3:06 at 13.1 miles yet still had a quarter of a mile to go
My target was always 3:15 at 15 minute miles but I was almost 4 minutes up on that after 2 miles and only went above 14:30 per mile twice.
Feet up now relaxing.
Massive thanks again to everyone for their kindness and generosity

Thank you you so much. Was out yesterday for a day trip to Belfast and with flight cancelllations I got back middle of last night so this is amazing to catch up on.
I managed to not get killed or kneecapped by either side which is always a success when going there!
