Just off topic from the match tonight for a second-
Why on earth are we getting stiffies over signing players like Mbuemo, Cunha, and Delap? Have we learned nothing since 2013?? None of them are good enough to get us back to where we belong! You can’t expect Selfridges results if you’re shopping at Primark ffs. There are several players who are, in my opinion, best on the market that we should certainly be in for.
Now I appreciate it’s not the Fergie-era anymore, but at the same time we’ve seen since the mid 1980’s that the best players will always want to sign for Manchester United. We possess an omnipresent, eternal prestige that other teams like say Newcastle, Chelsea or Liverpool will never have. Just ask Bryan Robson, Cantona or Bruno Fernandes. All joined when we weren’t on top.
The list below is compiled of what I consider to be ‘best in market’ players, that we would have a chance of getting this summer:
Gyokeres
Inaki Pena
Sesko
Kerkez
Tchouameni
Gibbs White
Wirtz
Sane
Now we obviously can’t sign all of them, but Inaki Pena, Gyokeres, Gibbs White, Tchouameni and Sane would be an outstanding window. I’ve been perhaps a tad ambitious with listing Wirtz, but we should at least be engaging in dialogue with him/his agent to try and make something happen if it’s at all possible.
To be the best, you’ve got to sign the best.
