Key points:
- One of the best young squads assembled (watchout Yamal & Doue... Estavao & Paez are taking over)
- Emphasis on long player contracts for stability.
- No Champions League get-out clauses in player contracts.
- Namedropping Andrey Santos as an important player for Club World Cup & next season.
- Hinting at less being spent in upcoming window, with the 'done most of our investing' comment.
- Inkling that other clubs will go big in spending.
- 65,000 🏟 being looked into

About right too, not a huge amount needed in terms of upgrading on what we already have on the books (Penders, Santos, Essugo, Ugochuwku/Chukwuemeka, Estavao return).

Keeping to the under 25 strategy -
Nico alternative competition (Thierno Barry).
Left-back (maybe this can be filled with a player from within in Ishe Samuels-Smith now that he's signed the contract, until Quenda arrives in 2026).
Goalkeeper (Mike Penders)
Left-middle attacker (Callum Hudson-Odoi).

(If one can obtain overaged player in Andreas Christensen on a FREE to replace overaged Tosin, you do it without hesitation).

The outgoings I want to see alot...

There is much to be positive about.

This is a different chelsea and many people want instant results which is unrealistic. This season had been an improvement on last season.

Maresca will deserve alot of credit if he gets us over the line tomorrow and that champions league place makes us a scary proposition for the future

A europa league place stunts us a bit and we might lose a FernandeZ or two but I actually think Santos might be a better fit in that position anyway in terms of the premier league

Mons,

If you think that after spending 4.2bln, there is much to be positive about , then you clearly know something that the majority of life long CFC supporters do not know.

These guys are winging it mate, imo

Bluff, Blag & B.S

Just because they are trying to put a positive spin on it, doesnt mean that they have got anything right.

What else are they going to do.

But I will concede that if they do change their strategy by a few degrees , I.e,

1; Focus on instilling strength & depth,

2: Developing the spine.

3: Begin to Invest in group of players who are going to purposefully improve the squad in the here & now.

Look my issue with this is , the reality is that this ownership have invested in over 1.6bln into players, the significant majority into inexperienced youth prospects.

For the life of me I dont understand why they didnt invest 1.2bln into that strategy and 400m into building strength & depth, players who would support and guide the youth prospects.

The truth imo, is forget all that stat stuff, as life long supporters we can see on the pitch result by result actually where we are, come on we know what we are looking at.

Finally regarding returning to C/L status this season was a gift.

Places 2- 5 have been wide open, considering our spend we should have comfortably slipped into the top 5, despite our short comings .

Fingers crossed today , we emerge as a better side that Forest.

Following on,

Our Squad ????? 44 + players- inclusive of loan players.

We do still have the 2nd biggest wage bill in the EPL , which is due to the ever expanding size of our squad, and the difficulties we have experienced over the last couple seasons moving key players on.

The squad has not been put together for the purpose of attaining C/L football as a priority , first it is about player banking & trading & then league position.

It is hit or miss , simple, imo.

This is for a reason, it is to shaw up the clubs value, as the ownership knocked a huge amount of value off the purchase price due to the way that the ownership steered the club in the 1st season, and the subsequent loss of C/L status.

imo, at the time their whole strategy unraveled , they were exposed & they didnt know how to regain the C/L momentum.

Imo, the measure of how well they are doing lys within our squads first 25 ability, the ratio of players who are justifiably in place to drive our league & cup competition competitiveness.

Currently imo, the balance of our player numbers and our ability to compete doesnt add up.

We are building a portfolio of players who are investments for sale or loan, not who are part of purposeful team who can compete at a top four level in the EPL and as part of the best 16 European teams .

Petrovic, Sanchez, Bettinelli, Jorgensen, Keppa, Solina.

Cucu, James, Gusto, Tosin, Colwill, Chalobah, Fofana

Willey, Bads, Diasasi, Chilwell

Enzo, Caicedo, Lavia, K-DH,

Netto, Palmer, Noni, Nkunku, Sancho,Jackson

Felix, Sterling, Ugo, Viega, Chuka, Mudryk

Washington, Broja, Gigui.

Acheampong, Anselmino, Santos, Estavez, Amoughou, Gilchrist, Kellyman, George.

Great group of names, but where is the top 4 side in all of that ?
