Bayer Leverkusen reach agreement in principle to install Erik ten Hag as head coach. Now documentation stage as #Bayer04 work to finalise appointment of 55yo Dutchman following departure of Xabi Alonso. Would be first job since United exit.

Apparently there’s a few Italian clubs interested in Rasmus, obviously he’ll go for half of what we paid as he’s been a flop in the PL

Think we still owe over half of his initial fee. Be lucky to get that back meaning zero money for a replacement from that particular deal.

I have no issue with this. I think Garnacho is a talent but thinks he's better than he is. The culture needs to change. It hurts when a youth player leaves but think it's for the best. It sends a sign even if Ruben doesn't stay around too long.

Ruben isn't going to get £600m in two years or anything close to that.
Why isn't he? Because the last manager and the recruitment team wasted the majority of the 600m.
If he's not going to get properly backed to make us capable of playing his way.....he may as well go now. 2/3 signings isn't going to transform this squad into one capable of playing his formation. We need more like 8.
So much was riding on that game Wednesday night for me. I don't see us having the budget now to give him what he needs.

Erik will do fairly well there. Less pressure and media scrutiny and presumably a much better transfer team behind him.
Him being given too much transfer input with us was his death sentence.

I want Ruben to stay now just for the fun of it.
It would be the second most worst decision the club has made in the last god knows how long (after not sacking eth) but I'm along for the ride down into the championship.

If we’d properly backed Jose back in the summer of 2018 we’d have another league title by now

He was better than Amorim
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He had £600m to spend on his own team. He bleeding well should be better.
We were on course for a 44pt season under Erik too. Hardly much better is it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
LOL predicting the outcome of 30 matches. Mental gymnastics. Amorim has done much much worse, and is probably even more stubborn in sticking to somethign that doesnt work.

Sounds like Leverkusen are gonna have a lot of money to spend from the Wirtz and Frimpong deals so yeah I can see Ten Hag coming to re-sign some of your deadwood.
Apparently they need a GK, CB, and replacements for those mentioned, take your pick of Utd players..
