So who is everyones team of the year?
Just read optas and its hard to argue with stats and theres some good ones in there.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c4ge7y184kjo
But for many including myself theres players we'd have different.
Mine would be
Sels
Munoz Vvd Huijsen Kerkez
Caicedo Gravenberch Eze
Salah Isak Mbuemo
Loads of honourable mentions tbf,
Gk: Dean Henderson. Raya, Pickford
Def: Robinson, Aina, Lacroix, Saliba, Milenkovic, Hall, Gvardiol, Trent, Gabriel
Mid: Diaz, Murphy, Rice, Wissa, Cunha, Anderson, Gibbs white, MacAllister
Striker: Wood, Watkins, Mateta, Evanilson, Haaland, Delap
Prob missed a few, who is in yours?

Not far wrong with that team, I'd potentially swap in rice/MacAllister into the midfield but that's just my preference.
I find it interesting that Timber rarely gets mentioned as a RB in these discussions. I obviously watch Arsenal week in week out and there's no doubt bias on my part. But he's arguably been our most consistent performer this season. I can't think of a game where the attacker has gotten the better of him and doesn't really have any weaknesses. Get the impression he is a bit underrated from opposition fans and surprised his name doesn't come up more often.

I rate Timber. He’s definitely in with a shout. No idea how Gabriel doesn’t make all teams. I’ve watched Arsenal quite a bit this season and he’s been excellent. Raya also in with a shout from Arsenal.

It is a weird one. Arsenal were 2nd, had easily the best defensive record and the 3rd most goals scored yet many aren't putting any Arsenal player in.
City finished third, 2nd most goals, Haaland scored just 1 less than Isak despite missing more games, but not a single attacker from there is getting mentioned.
Probably the most open for debate with really only Salah and VvD seemingly a nailed on pick (Carra didn't pick Gravenberch for example).

I'd no problem with Saliba or Gabriel in tbf, as a unit Arsenal are prob the best def. With their 5 cbs 3 dms or w.e in there . Joking aside, just think individually Kerkez Munoz etc had better seasons.

Arsenal have had a lot of 7/10’s but I wouldn’t say any of them have been outstanding individually. I do have Gabriel in though, who has been excellent all season.

Oh and Rice

I dno how you can leave out Grav tbh, just look at the stats in the opta toty link, then factor in hes never played the position before and came unexpected. Hes prob the most nailed in one for me. With Salah Haaland etc you kinda used to it, expect it to a degree.

I think AMA has been better over the full season myself and think Caicedo has been excellent.
