3rd choice keeper at a big club, what a job!
Carson at City played a total of 117 minutes over 6 years winning 4 PL titles and a CL.

It's actually the dream job.

Very little pressure and still paid a small fortune compared to the normal person.

How unsatisfied must you be though, train all week knowing you're not even going to be on the bench. You're basically there to keep goal in training.

I don't see the downside.

He's nearly 40, had a decent career without being elite and if he was going to play regularly at this stage it would probably be Championship at best.

It's still a job that they do for the team even if they aren't playing. I'm sure they're a valued memeber of the squad and provide help for the other keepers as well. For Heaton he's had a pretty decent career before rejoining us, this is just the next stage of it.

That's great but we need someone who can really put the heat on Onana

I take your point, i suppose its more a comment on 3rd choices everywhere rather than this chap specifically.

3rd choice and still better than the 2 ahead of him.
