Rashford's future

With Barcelona close to singing Nico Williams from Athletic club....where does that leave Rashford now? That's apparently the move he wanted but looks unlikely to happen now. He's said to be against a move to Saudi because of England chances and also because he's very close with his family.

Don't see many obvious loan moves for him. Italy perhaps? Bayern? Spurs, Chelsea or Arsenal? Surely not.

Whether you're a fan of Rashford or you're not it doesn't really matter....the decision to freeze him out of the picture in the run up to January was a poor
one for me. It's basically made him damaged goods.

Maybe he's going to have no choice but come back, apologise and start working hard again. I know that won't be popular with many on here though.

Shambles of a situation to be in this position with 3 wingers all at same time.

This has been one of the saddest parts of watching the massive decline of the club. Not only have they become a total shambles in every single area on and off the pitch but also as a place to work it’s a toxic sheet show.

The way they’ve treated many players recently has been shocking. Rashford and DDG come to mind both who did a lot for the club during a dark period.

I hope he gets a big move and goes on to do very well.

Aload of nonsense. Yes Rashford and De Gea were very good players and they were rewarded handsomely for it.

Their levels dropped massively and they were let go/dropped wherever.

City have gotten rid of the likes David Silva, Aguero & KDB when they were no longer what they used to be. All far superior players to Rashford btw.

If Rashford and De Gea were still good enough they’d still be starting for United.

This mindset is so hard for us to accept.

Ironic that seeing as Rashford was playing for Villa, who are currently superior to us, and De gea has been playing for a side that came 6th in their league .

Rashford is good enough for United, probably better than every player in the club, including Cun7ha. He's just a bit of a cant of a player who does not always apply himself as much as he could.

Neither are at the level we need though.

Cunha scored more PL goals last season than Rashford has in the last 2 so maybe see how it pans out before declaring Rashford the better player.

Of course Rashford is good enough to be playing at (and above) United’s current level.

The issue is that he doesn’t remotely suit the system. There’s no role for him in the side.

Sancho and Antony would be more suitable fits, all other factors aside.

We’ll be changing system in not too long anyway when Ruben is sacked………

Get him gone. Too much hassle. He doesn’t fit into any UTD system. Time and time again he’s been a let down.
Wish him well, but it’s best for us, for him to part ways.

Agree with this really. I like the lad and think its a shame how this has turned out. But I think that the vast majority of us thought it was time for him to move on last season. Nothing has changed for me.

and despite his Villa move looking quite successful, actually that is not the problem that most will see. They will wonder whether once he's got himself a new deal somewhere, will he drop off like he did last time he signed a new contract with Utd. Leading up to that he had his "golden season", signed new deal, underwhelmed ever since.

Ironically for a man who has done so much to raise the awareness of kids going hungry, one questions whether he truly has the hunger anymore.
