It’s just another example of how poorly we’ve been ran that a club is willing to offer 45 mill for one of our cast while we’d snap hands off for a similar offer for any of Antony, Sancho & Rashford.
Forest reject £45 mill for Elanga

We give plenty of youth a chance, but they ideally need to be a level or 2 above what Elanga was for us.

If anything, the youth have been asked to prove themselves too quickly, too soon.............because the established players aren't good enough..........

Its interesting because Fergie really did install that "we're United, we're the biggest club in the world" attitude and that fact was used to maintain standards. That it is the highest privilege and honour and this should inspire you and drive you.
Now adays it seems like its become a bit of a burden. Is that due to the weak mindsets of some modern players, or the 24/7 nature of the coverage and comment on social media. I certainly think these factors contribute.
I don't understand why some players even bother with social media. They don't need to promote themselves, they just open themselves up for abuse because whoever it is and whatever its is, people get trolled and abused .

Because they’re mainly kids and kids all use social media.

Yes he did ok (his actual stats were played 53, scored 3 and assisted 4) but we also weren't in a place to give him the time to develop and felt that moving him on was best for everybody which I still think was the right call.

We are never is a place to give a chance to our players. Till we get relegated. We are always acting like we can afford short cuts to ultimate success buying average players like it isn't cheaper to keep ours. "Manchester United Pressure" the reason to spending every year to less than zero production.

Thank you very much.
Someone with an ounce of sense.
Folks talking about revisionism. These same people would be saying the same sort of gibberish had we sold Amad, who by the way went to Rangers and stank the place. He was on the bench, whilst Joe Aribo was starting ahead of him.
Players deserve a long run. Utter madness to sell a player 19-21 talking about not to cut out for it.
The player introduction to the team came with Ralph interim Rangnick.
He is going to Newcastle for 45 million quid. Keep living in cuckoo land. He would've done about the same job for us that Antony gave us, who we squandered plus wages more than 100 million quid!

There's a lot of angry people in here that can't get over the fact that players who play for Manchester United come under far more scrutiny than the likes of Newcastle and Nottingham Forest

BUT you were offered £15m for a relatively raw kid whose output was nothing specfial, so there was a decision to make. It's not like you gave him away but at the same time Forest saw something in him and now they've got a £50m player.
I suppose the question is, why didnt Utd see that same promise? But I suppose you have also watched ETH not see the promise in Amad, and he seemed only played out of neccessity.
Elanga is definitely not a KDB or Salah at Chelsea situation, but his sale does perhaps reflect a wider failure at United as to how they manage talent that's coming through. It seems to be either ignored or over played and thrown in at the deep end.

Any player making the step up to a bigger club, or coming from their academy to the First team squad will be subject to greater expectations, higher pressure, higher scrutiny.
As a club, you have to manage that and manage how players deal with it...and United are totally failing where others like Liverpool & City have no problems integrating new signings and academy kids.
Your response is like these kids and signings are not aware of what they will be facing, and when they struggle they're left to deal with it. It's just another example of how poorly run Utd are.

"Players deserve a long run"
He played 53 games and didn't excel or look like he had much of a future at the club.
"He would've done about the same job for us that Antony gave us"
Which wouldn't have been good enough, stop comparing him to Antony. Neither were good enough for us.
"Someone with an ounce of sense."
You said this about Redastomatoes who can barely write in proper English.

There is a pressure at a few certain clubs which is greater than most other clubs, and Utd falls into that category of those few certain clubs, for the time being.
However, the main reason the kids are struggling is because they are being asked too much of, and being thrown into the deep end, which is no way to develop youngsters.
And the main reason that is happening is because the established players at the club are generally not good enough, due to a mixture of bad transfer signings and some poor management also.
So it is a slow process of hoping enough of these kids are strong enough to cope mentally in such a situation along with hoping that some better standard players are signed. And of course then hoping that the right manager is in place to get that all to gel.
It would be foolish to deny that there is an extra pressure playing for Utd, but it would be foolish to say this is the reason for all their problems. It's a combination of everything and I feel it is getting the right manager and signing the right established players that are the main issues.
The likes of Cunha and Mbuemo are a better step, and hopefully there is more to come. And then hopefully Amorim can prove himself. But that's a lot of factors to get right

Exactly. High expectations go with the territory so should not be a surprise or an excuse for any Utd player/signing/kid (at least not long term). As you say the issue comes as the main squad has been badly managed meaning kids/new signings cannot be managed well and are just thrown in and expected to deliver.
BTW...is MBuemo yours yet. Everyone on here seems to be commenting like its a done deal.
