Elanga to Newcastle for £55 million*

And we get 15% of the sale coming our way 🥳

Should pay Mbuemo’s wages for a few weeks at least.

* deal being finalised

Because we’re not in a position to let every single youth player develop and grow into their full potential for varying reasons. We’ve always sold some youth for a smallish fee and they’ve gone on to develop, it’s a part of the youth system.

This has been explained to him about ten times now. He ain't going to get it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nonsense. I totally get it. We can't nuture them all.

What i won't accept is giving decent ones away when we bring in dross the other way.

Antony signs for 85m. 5 months later Elanga goes on loan in January and then eventually leaves in the summer for £15m.

That's not good business.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You clearly don’t get it, because for starters, you seem to think Elanga’s exit had something to do with Antony’s arrival.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But did we think that Elanga was that decent? The truth is that no-one has looked really good for us on a consistent basis over the last 5 years except for Bruno. Otherwise we would have hung onto them. It doesn't meant they were terrible, but ultimately not of a good enough level that we thought we should keep them.

The problem is that we have been in a vicious circle of not buying very good players, and also over-paying for them. We are hopefully rectifying that now.

But players are leaving us, finding a new lease of life, and of course their value will go up. There will be a lot of players who can play to a good standard, but we feel that there is better out there. It's finding them that is the problem

Elanga didn’t go on loan. He fell down the pecking order because he was shiiiiit and Garnacho broke through. It was good business at the time selling Elanga, him doing well under Nuno’s anti-football doesn’t change that.

I get you’re all praying they come in for Rashford - it’s been mentioned it’s because they have registration issues with Nico Williams hence that deal being off - why would that change with a deal for Rashford?

posted 1 week, 5 days ago

I’m not sure why it would. Supposedly Barca told Nico that there may be issues with his registration when trying to sign him which I’m assuming has played a big part in him not moving. Tebas has also talked about Barca not being able to register players. Not sure why Rashford wouldn’t suffer from the same problem?

That's like telling the bouncer you were about to leave anyway after being chucked out after ten pints.

Don't players waive a pay off/ bonuses if they instigate a transfer?

This claim that they have all asked to leave hardly fits with the 'money is paramount' narrative.
