Our window so far

How good a window have we had so far?

Personally, when you consider where we find ourselves right now, I think we have had a pretty good window. 2 of our prime targets secured, and Rashford finally out the door, a move that has been long overdue in my opinion.

I still think a quality GK is a must, and hold out hope we can secure Martinez who would be a huge upgrade on Onana and Bayindir, but that might depend on who else we can move on.

Yes, an elite or Prem proven CF would have been great, but that was always a stretch given the slim pickings and competition within the market.

Delap could have been a bargain at £30m but Champs League footy and his familiarity with Maresca and Palmer clealry made the difference.

Gyokeres would have been a good signing, given his past with Amorim, but he clealry wanted Arsenal, and it mains to e seen if we had another £60m to bid for him anyway.

None of the other CFs that have moved seem realistic or good business right now.

Well we could sign Mbappe for 500m and it would still be an A for quality, but value for money would be Z. I did a lot of background analysis and R and D and D are definitely correct and based on evidence.

It's still pretty early and I still think we will need to wait a while to conclude our business whilst we try to offload some other players.

Cunha and Mbuemo are hopefully very good signings and I would prioritise a CM and GK - it could be tough getting in a CF that we really want.

If the signings settle in, along with improved form being shown by a a few of our players, it could be a pretty decent season.

Yeah, but I was referring to these ratings for the Mbuemo and Cunha deals. Never mind.

I'm not sure we need a CM ahead of a GK or CF.

Mainoo, Ugarte, Bruno, Casemiro are pretty good options.

Ugarte will hopefully improve, and same goes for Mainoo, but similar to Bruno, I wonder if Mainoo and Bruno are better in a more advanced position, and dare I say, perhaps this set up isn't ideal for them. Cas is past his best.
An injury or 2 and we could be short there, as well as not having a disciplined player with a real engine who can distribute better than Ugarte.

Palinha is available from Bayern. Solid PL performer who boasted the best stats of any DM while at Fulham.

Fighting spirit, always gives his all and sets an excellent example. I look at the team and it needs a bit more toughness and he could be the answer.

Ex Sporting Captain and knows Amorim and his style well.

I'd describe the transfer window so far as just ok. Two good signings but not done anywhere near enough to get rid of the wasters. That's not necessarily from a lack of want of trying but more down to wages and the fact everyone knows we're desperate to sell.

We still need a decent CF. CM is not a priority imo, we're playing once a week for the most part, hardly demanding. And if it was a concern I'm not sure why we're putting Collyer out on loan. I thought he held his own very well in the games he played.

I disagree Playmaker.

The club can't really do much more than let it be known they are available.

As for a decent CF, we have 2, maybe 3 already.

I agree there isn't but I'm at a point where I feel saving the wages and getting rid of their negativity is worth more than any fee.

I mean an out and out No.9 specifically. I've been reluctant to criticise Hojlund, and I'd hate to see him getting slated again next season if he fails to convert chances. Having a proper finisher will help 2 fold, i.e. score much needed goals and allow Hojlund to develop.

Why beat around the bush. Just buy Sporting CP. that way we can easily get rid of Amorim when the time comes.
