PL odds...

Under 2 weeks until the start of the new PL season, and some of you will be looking to have some season long bets. So what are the bookies liking, and what could be some under the radar shots?

Title
Unsurprisingly big spending champions Liverpool are favourites at 7/4. Arsenal are 9/4 and City are 10/3. Chelsea are the only other team given a sniff at 9s. Manchester United seem low even at 28/1, while Newcastle United are 40s. Spurs (50) and Villa (66) are the only other teams given any hope with next best Brighton at 250/1. Burnley and Sunderland are both 1500/1, which means if you put a tenner on either you will win fack all.

Top Four
Liverpool, Arsenal and City are all odds on, as are Chelsea at 8/13. Newcastle (2/1), Man Utd, Aston Villa (both 4/1) and Spurs (5/1).
After Forest went close, you may fancy an outsider with Brighton (16), Bournemouth (25) leading the aforementioned Nottingham Forest, Everton and Palace all 28/1.

To be relegated
No shock to see the promoted teams the 3 favourites, with Leeds at evens and the other 2 odds on. My opinion is we will see at least one of them survive - and Wolves and Brentford are the bookies choice of the more established teams, with both 10/3. West Ham at 11/2 could be worth a look, but 7s for Fulham, Crystal Palace and Everton doesn't look value. Could the unthinkable happen and Arsenal or Liverpool go down? More likely than a Sunderland title seemingly, both are 1000/1. Reflecting the lack of decision on the charges, Man City are just 20/1 - only an idiot would take that on surely? After disastrous seasons, 25/1 for United and 40/1 for Spurs to go down is a lot lower than a year ago.
If you fancy either Burnley or Sunderland NOT to be relegated you can get 9/4 and 7/4 respectively.

Top at Christmas
Could anyone get off to a flier and take the half season title? Odds are slightly better value than the title for the favourites if you fancy the same team for both, with Liverpool 2/1, Arsenal 5/2 and City 10/3. Chelsea are 7/1, Newcastle 12/1. United, without European football, are 25/1, and if you expect Frank to do a big Ange then Spurs are 40/1.

Top Goalscorer
Erling Haaland is 6/5 to get back the boot. Salah at 9/2 doesn't seem good value considering he will likely miss a fair few games over the Christmas period due to the African Nations.
Without knowing who he will play for, Alexander Isak is 6s, the same price you can get new Arsenal main man Viktor Gyokeres.
Bryan Mbeumo hit 20 last season to finish 4th in the scoring charts, but the new United man is another expected to miss a month for the ACON so 50/1 reflects that. His new team-mate Matheus Cunha is 40/1.
Cole Palmer hit 15 last season, down 7 on his previous tally, and is 20/1. His new strikers Joao Pedro (16) and Liam Delap (50) don't look the best bets.
With his future very much in doubt, you could gamble on Nicolas Jackson staying in the PL and finding top form @ 100/1, the same price as Kai Havertz, Cody Gakpo, Danny Welbeck and Rasmus Hojlund.

Title winner and top goalscorer
If you want to double up for better odds, a Liverpool title/Haaland top scorer double is 5/1, the same price as City/Haaland. Liverpool/Salah is 9/1 while City/Haaland is
Is Gyokeres the man to shoot Arsenal to glory? An Arsenal/Gyokeres double is 14/1.
Isak and Liverpool is 12/1, but if you think United can beat Liverpool to Isak and then he shoots them to glory you can get 250/1 on United/Isak.

Golden Glove
David Raya is 5/4 to complete the hat-trick with Alisson 5/2. With the bookies unsure who will start for City, Ederson is 11/4 and Trafford 6/1.
Matz Sels is 20/1 to repeat his feat of last season, and under Moyes with a new stadium and a seemingly better team, Jordan Pickford at 40/1 seems one of the best value bets about. He only finished one behind Raya and Selz last season, and was second behind Raya in 23/24.
With a more pragmatic manager, Vicario at 20/1 could interest some, while ex-Liverpool stopper Caoimhin Kelleher is 100/1 as he takes the gloves at Brentford.

people are forgetting that 5th place now gets top 4
======
It doesn't and bookies won't pay out for 5th so stop misleading people Barry.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So what is the significance of top 4? What are the odds on top 14? Another random number that doesn't define anything?

You can bet on top 5, top 6, top half etc.

Top 4 defines who gets Champions League in 26/27.

Utd are just too risky to back for anything right now. If transfers go well, then I guess top 4 is a possibility, but it's one of those 4/1 could be massive or why were they as skinny as 4/1 - I'm strongly in the latter camp.

I usually do a small fun acca on all 4 league winners as well as individual ones. It pains me, but i really think Arsenal might do it this season.

Liverpool won't struggle, but I think it may take a while to get their front line all firing and playing well together and still not convinced by them defensively. I expect a lot of goals from them but they will let in a fair few also i feel.there'll be a different type of pressure on them next season, so interesting to see how they cope.

If I think Arsenal will win the league, then I guess Gyokeres will be a big part of that, hard to see him not being top 4 at least if injury free.

At a bigger price, I think Solanke could have a big season. Frank in as manager, once again if he can stay injury free - last season was just too stop start for him. Also Mateta, as I think palace will do well this year

After winning the FA Cup last season, Palace will be on a high - I had backed them from last 16s stage last season. I can see them doing well in the league if they don't lose too many big names in the next few weeks and handicap betting for the title could be the way to go with them. They started off slowly last season, but hopefully are more with it for this year's start.

An outside bet would also be Henderson e/w for golden glove as I think their defence will be pretty solid also.

Some stingy odds there!

Man U with no Europe at 28/1 is the not the worst odds if they get Sesko. Mbeumo, Sesko, Cunha with Fernandes behind them is a very well balanced front 4
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I've got £20 in United for the title at 40/1.

Even that seems a stingy price. And a waste of 20 quid
