Daniel

I was always on board with getting back to the PL. We need to be there.
I was excited for the season.
The win v Everton was super duper.
Then the reality of who we are hits home. 5-0 and at a canter really. We could argue that 3/4 of the goals were sloppy, but we just aren’t anywhere close to that level.
So I watched with a certain amount of sadness. It’s boring watching your team chase shadows 4-0 down. That is not entertaining. So I’m already thinking, oh maybe best back in the Championship at least we win some games.
And then the usual stuff is coming out about Farke…he can’t adapt tactically, picks the wrong team, players etc etc …subs all wrong.
Loads of people wanted him gone even after winning the title.
So….what’s the answer here? Can we stop moaning and enjoy the ride? Or is it just we are sick of getting tonked in the PL?
And what’s the answer beyond Farke for all those people that don’t want him?

Saturday lunchtime at ER will be a completely different scenario for Newcastle from under the lights at home v Liverpool. Hopefully we can take advantage.

10 million for an injury prone full back with 1 year left on his contract. Lots of delighted Leicester fans on twitter. They reckon he was decent but been injury plagued since his acl injury, can't defend at all but good going forward.

Better than Schmidt most probably

Still need a couple of marquee singings, underwhelming so far.

I think those marquee signings have left the building with Bakwa and Uche looking like going to Forest and Wolves and social media strongly suggesting the two players DF wants in before the window shuts are Solomon and midfielder Weigl from Monchengladbach.
That's looking like that will be our lot.

I’ve been reflecting and thinking that if one signing is made in January, because things have worked out, it could be a top striker who hasn’t been getting the minutes, or one on loan; Villa took Rashford on loan last January, so these things are possible.

Something tells that this promise to sign a ‘marquee striker’ was always fake and half hearted at best…and that going after a Vardy or DCL or other free agent striker was the intention all along. Many of us are too long in the tooth to be fooled and I just got this hunch that there was no real sense of regret from the club when we missed out.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m just throwing my sentiment out there.

Christ you lot are like teenage girls.

You’d have been delighted with 3 points from your opening two fixtures. Everton are a decent PL outfit under Moyes and Arsenal were always going to smash you.

Why on earth you’re judging your team on a game against Arsenal I’ll never know. You can’t hope to compete with the top 3.

Getting a win opening weekend was a great start to the season, just enjoy playing proper football on the big stage. Focus on the games against Sunderland, West Ham, Brentford, Palace etc. Those are the interesting ones, anything you get out of the top 3 is a massive bonus.

There you go, right on cue…a Liverpool fan
patronising and telling us what we should expect,
we should know our place!

It’s your first year back in the PL you can’t expect to be back and all of a sudden be competitive with a CL semi finalist. For the record I expect nothing from the Arsenal game we have next week and we’re the champions ffs.

3 points from your opening 2 is excellent work. Stay up this year, use the big PL money so many of you moan about to sign the right players and that’s when you can grow and develop but there’s a reason it’s been 3 seasons since a promoted club stayed up.
