Maybe. All hindsight of course, but the step up was too big for him. He has / had small club mentality. That Fellaini transfer was a big indicator of that.

You're forgetting Sir Gareth.

Seriously though. I'm not sure about that. Someone like Pep who had managed the best players in the world at Barcelona would've been ok I reckon, and he wasn't a boring dinosaur like Jose. We should've done everything we could to bring in Pep in 2013, which is when he left Barcelona.

I'd put money on us winning the majority of PLs since 2013 if Pep was manager.
We had everything a manager like him needs, money. Could've moulded the club to exactly how he wanted.

Do you reckon? SAF seemed to do Ok with those cronies behind him

Saf was one of a kind who coaxed 20% extra out of ageing players. No one could have succeeded in the mess we had afterwards
