There's a very interesting interview with Peter Lowy on the BBC.
https://www.bbc.com/audio/play/p0n4cjlm
It's a bit old - from the day of the Sunderland game - but I've not seen any discussion of it on here. He seems very switched on and talks a lot about development and not just in the commercial sense.

Are we now at last in safe hands?
---------------------
problem with that statement its so subjective... a lot would yes because of this that and the other, others, we all know who, would come and scrutinise everything they do and some how link it to them being bad owners...
even now, I think back to Radz.. essentially the man that brought back PL football after 30 years, he brought Beilsa in, totally made us 'one club'.. I heard some donkey the other day still crying about when he tried change the badge.. ffs, he changed his mind due to fan reaction... how more intune with the fans do you want?.. a man, a rich man, changes his plans to satisfy the fans of the club he owns...
with the 49ers, we've still got the usual suspects.
I Highley doubt, even with rich man city style owners, you'd satisfy the most cynical of fans.
matters on the pitch is where it counts..
United for example, fans crying about the glazors... not heard a singe thing since they started winning games, nothing has changed apart from results !

Are we now at last in safe hands?
^^^
I'd say we're in safer hands since the days
of Leslie Silver. If we stay up, the real test will
be what comes next? As in, will we see the
club fast track ground development? Will we
suffer even better recruitment in the summer?
We'll have to wait and see.

Thanks Spanish, Batty and Milkyboy for making the effort. I was expecting more comments - Lowy is a very interesting character, speaks very clearly, no bull, and ready to speak about what's going on at ER. I'm guessing he's also been a fan for about the same number of years as many of us on here and so he knows the club.
Lowy seems to be arguing that the club can benefit right now from the alignment of sympathetic ears in both national and local government. The city council apparently have everything in place to enable the development of a tram system linking south Leeds and the train station to ER and the city centre, and public money has already been appropriated for this. Stadium development is already under way. Increasing revenues, and not just from ER, will fund the team's development.
I know that people in Leeds have heard it all before and that we're not safe from the drop yet but this guy really does sound like he means business. He does a much better job of engaging with the public than Marathe.
Think we're going to need to be patient but things seem to be coming along nicely. Just got to get it over the line this season - and maybe beat Arsenal at Wembley in the Cup!

Was told not long back by someone who has half an idea of what goes on that Man City have spent far more on the surrounding areas than the football team and spoke to Leeds but the council wouldnt sell the land around ER.
