"will we get beat this season"
Oh eye.

It really doesn't matter how many times we lose, or draw...the only thing that matters is by the end of game 46 we have more points than 22 of the other teams in our league. The best way to get the remaining 66 points we need to secure promotion is to just win 22 of our remaining 33 matches, the other 11 games I don't give a chuff about.
Promotion is EVERYTHING, unbeaten runs are okay for a bit of publicity, but as we found to our cost last season, means jack sheet if we don't achieve that one primary objective.

only thing ill say jacko is that your mainly right. but the unbeaten run last season earned us a crazy amount of points it was the first half of the season that cost us. draws at home and 9 defeats if we had done half as well as the second half of the season wed av been champions!

Yes tez, 'if '. Thing is Southampton also got a 'crazy amount of points' in the 2nd half of the season...and they lost games on the way, but funnily enough accumulated more points than we did, and scored more goals, and conceded less...and got promoted...
We could go all season unbeaten and still finish outside the top 2 .
On a more positive note, it does seem like LC has taken the advice of the fans and finally changed his negative 4-5-1 to 4-4-2 for every game now..with the obvious benefit in terms of wins and goals scored. Pity it took him so long to suss this out seeing as the fans were wanting this last year. Long may it continue because 3 or 4 straight wins doesn't half change your league standing, as we've just seen with Town.

It's all it took Jacko. One little change and bingo.
442 the future of League 1 football

jacko i dont personally think we had the players to play 442 last season. our central midfielders just couldnt do it especially when they didnt get much help from the wingers. this season we have some real 'pros' in there pulling the strings!

We do seem to be playing more attractive, free flowing football away from home this season. The 4-4-2 may or may not be the reason for this up turn. We all know that Johnson is a class act and perhaps Miller is better than what we thought he was at the start of the season!
Our home form needs turning around though and no more so than against Preston at the weekend. We all know it will be a tough game but its like most people have said already, we tend to play better against the top sides. Lets hope saturday is no different!
Will we lose this season??? I think honestly, yes. Perhaps away at Charlton or dare i say it, at the Wendies!

the unbeaten run is a distraction only..
preston on saturday is the only result that matters..looking ahead at staying unbeaten is a waste of time.. try and win the next game , thats it.. we got too hung up on staying unbeaten last season and draws were being lauded when they really shouldnt have been.. winning at home really does take the pressure off the away games, a dodgy away draw is ok after a good home win, a good away draw is worth its weight after a home win..
as i said we were dodgy in some of the games last season and got away with it a few times, its not the same this season, we havent played well quite a few times but didnt actually look like losing..
