RVP

If TV can sign a new contract why can't RVP?

I know RVP isn't happy about the current situation with our best players leaving and the Boards lack of ambition but doesn't he own wenger and the fans?

Us fans and wenger have stayed loyal to Robin ever since he joined even though being injured for long period of times. He has always been a favourite with the fans. So doesn't he own us by signing a new contract so if he does leave we actually get decent money for him?

I know Cesc was on a contract and we got mugged over the price but that was a unique situation where as there was only one team in the frame to sign him so no competition to drive the price up. With RVP being arguably the best forward in the world their would be much competition for his siguature.

One thing is for sure though thank god we have him this season!

P.S. I miss Cesc

I think "Cheltenham_Dunc (U7120)" is right. Even when players under a longterm contract you cant prevent them from leaving.

PS. I miss Cesc too.

The exact same line as was used for Cesc and Nasri if I remember correctly !

Exactly Dunc... So it's bye bye RvP then come the end of the season as he packs his bags for Real Madrid. Just hope Wenger and Ivan Thingy are on top of this and already talking to his replacement. Pigs might fly the way AFC do business.

"RvP is fit, and the club has said negotiations will happen later on in the season when we aren't playing 2 games per week" The exact same line as was used for Cesc and Nasri if I remember correctly !

cesc? the same cesc that still had several years on his contract?

It was said about Nasri. I am sure it was also true, when it was said. however then city came in and offered to treble his wages. as he was in his last year, and he wanted to accept their offer we had no choice but to accept it.

RvP has 2 years left, and we have no reason to believe that he is keen to leave, and we aren't keen to sell.

Just because one player wanted to leave, doesn't a completely different player will want to do the same.

I think the entire team knows that this year we will not be chalenging for any trophee. But they want to know if we will do so next year. A good transfer window either in January or July (or both if optimistic) + a top four finish will be enough to convince him and other players to stay

Why should RVP sign a contract? It's his life he's signing away.

He's the only truly great player we have left. On top of that, the club's not won anything for some time.

I wouldn't blame him if went to a bigger teams like Inter Milan or AC Milan.

It's not just one player with Arsenal though, every season we seem to lose our top players...after a while people fear the worst.

TV has signed a new contract becaues one has been offered and, due to his injury problems, few if any teams are seriously interested in signing him.

RVP on the other hand has not signed a new contract, probably because his run of form in the last few months marks him out as one of the best forward players in the world, so there's bound to be serious interest from other clubs.

Therefore RVP will bide his time and see what ambition (or lack of it) Arsenal display, then in all probability check out the various offers and make his choice.

Their personal circumstances are entirely different.
