Gervinho Part II

Let's think about Gervinho in relation what Arsenal need:

Is he a 20 goal a season goal poacher? No.

Is he a dominant defensive mid? No.

Is he a leader? No.

Is he a beast of a centre half? No.

Is he a goalkeeper? No.

Is he proven in La Liga, the Premiership or Serie A and has he played regularly in the Champions League? No no no no no.

What is he? An attacking mid/support striker who has some nice tricks and flicks, scores ten goals a year, and has never been good enough to nail down a position in the Ivory Coast national team.

THIS. IS. NOT. WHAT. WE. NEED.

DO. NOT. DELUDE. YOURSELF.

Don't understand why some of you don't want him, many French people think the guy had a better season than Hazard and he's half the price of Eden. If you get him you'll finally have a good wide player and not the useless Arshavin and sometimes useless Walcott. Plus he's versatile and can play as a striker. I'm jealous, because Chelsea need a skilful winger/forward like him

We need him or N'Zogbia
Either way I'm happy

Put it this way, he is cheaper and better and has more international experience than N'Zogbia.

The op doesn't know what he's talking about, just another many of the flimsy whingers that Arsenal have amassed.

If anyone actually watched Ivory coast in their World Cup campaign, Gervinho was one of their Man of their Tournaments. Even got Man of the Match on his debut with Nani + C.Ronaldo on the same pitch.

That says a lot.

N'Zogbia would also be a good buy. People Asians he'd be a squad player but he's good enough to start for you. Look how well the likes of Prince-Boateng and Valencia have done coming from clubs in similar positions. N'Zogbia is good enough to regularly start for any team in the PL IMO

*assume he'd be a squad player

Arsenes_little_grey_cells My question to you is would you rather have gervinho or bendtner? we look like getting rid of alot of the dead wood this summer e.g. bendtner, denilson, rosicky and we can't get rid of 5/6 squad players without replacing them. Gervinho will just be a direct replacement for bendtner if he comes and in my opinion that is a significant improvement in the squad for what will likely be no money spent as the cost will be covered by bendtners sale

Anyone who does not think we need a quick wide player who can take people on has not been watching too many Arsenal games.

Shame the Op doesnt appear to have any grey cells of his own.

ooooh, he's not a big name and hasn't got a 20m+ pricetag... he must be useless.

Gervinho or Bendtner? Bendtner. Playing in his natural position, not out on the bloody wing.

Gervinho scored more goals than Betdner playing out wide...
