De Gea Young, and Phil Jones "defender" are NOT replacements for Scholes.

Haven’t had any time to look around the gossip columns etc this morning. Who is linking us with Rodwell is there any link?

I know he has been linked for us for ages but to be honest I think it was more of a case of we were keeping tabs on him (which I’m sure is the case for lots of young players).

I agree with the OP though – can’t really see he is that much better than what we already have – I would pick Giggs, Carrick or Fletcher over him – especially for big games – so it doesn’t really make sense in spending 25mill on him.

He seems a decent passer with both feet but doesn’t seem to have that much pace or much creativity or a trick. He might look great with time on the ball but you want a midfielder with a quick brain to play one and two touch stuff under the kinda of pressure Barcelona put you under with their pressing game – this for me is what we are lacking at both united and probably the english national team

Morrison, Tunnicliffe and Pogba in my opinion will all go on to become better players so it doesn't make any sense to even be linked with Rodwell and this 25 million quid tag is just pathetic. Sorry Everton but you can just keep him, that is no where near his value (about 6 million)

100% agreed. That kind of money on a player who can't play week in week out for Everton is just plain stupid, especially when we have players in our own youth team who are/will be better.
