This is my first article since 606 went down, and it'll probably get 1-starred like fun, but it's just a thought.
If all of the rumours surrounding Leeds United in the transfer market turn out to be true, then I am actually quite optimistic about next season.
With all I've seen/read/heard, we could see a line up along these lines:
-------------------Schmeichel-------------------
Connolly----Gimpel----Kisnorbo----Lichaj
-----------------------Smith-----------------------
Snodgrass----Howson----Nunez----Gradel
----------------------Becchio---------------------
I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I am personally really excited by Gimpel. He's young, he's eager and he seems to be quite good (Liverpool and Chelsea were both after him). With him and Kisnorbo, back from injury, making up the centre of our defence, and with Lichaj interested in coming back, our back line could well be quite solid next season.
Love him or hate him, Smith would be a fantastic signing. He's got a fair bit of experience, and, with a bit more match fitness, could well be the defensive midfielder that so many of us were begging for last season.
With Smith adding extra support to our defence, our attack (arguably our biggest strength) will have more freedom to really press opposition. Snodgrass and Gradel can do their thing down the wings, and Howson (who I imagine will take on full responsibility as club captain now that Naylor's gone) and Nunez will be able to get themselves further forward into their strongest positions in support of a lone striker (I've put Becchio here as he's had some good performances in that position).
This is just speculation though as only one new boy is confirmed, but, like I said, it is just a thought.

Possible Team for Next Season

The only change I would make would be 442. So smith, if we got him, would play next to Howson. Gradel or Snoddy would play wide with plenty of options should either of them leave. This then leaves us with Becchio or Paynter & Somma or McCormack up front depending on rests, injuries etc

This is the silly season and this article wins 1st prize. How on earth can you select a team when pre-season and the p/s friendlies haven't happened and for certain there will be other players coming in. Picking Gimpel, who is a kid and nowhere near the 1st team is just as silly.
Very silly.

Yeah, will go with that......though I'd like to see Somma and McCormack given a shot Maybe agree with skh that Lees will get the nod above Gimpel for the mo.

Can't see him attending your prize-giving cermony koppite.
Sorry - but people are entitled to share theit thoughts and he certainly doesn't suggest it's anything more than that.
You need to chill about such articles koppie and be glad that different people have different thoughts.

I'll show you originalkoppite
-------------------Schmeichel-------------------
Connolly----Pepe----Kisnorbo----Lichaj
-----------------------Iniesta-----------------------
Snodgrass----Howson----Messi----Gradel
----------------------Becchio---------------------
See it's easy. These are the players we should be buying with the millions we've got!
Well, according to some?
Those of us with a realistic approach would wait and see who we actually bring in.

Walsall...I don't understand what you are trying to say. Are suggesting that it is sensible to try and select a team before you know who is available? Are you suggesting it is sensible to include in that team a kid who has no experience of senior professional football? Are you suggesting it is sensible to propose a formation before you know the team?
Or are you just being obnoxious, rude and argumentative for the sake of it?
