Lawro has tomorrows match down as a win for Sunderland.
Cant say I can argue with this one.
We have not looked close to convincing in any game yet this season (i think we all know why).
Some have said that there is no way villa will go down this season; even some blue noses have come out in sympathy for the villa with McLeish in charge. Thats when you know things are bad.
I honestly can't see where the villa are going to get 15 points from between now and the new year. We have probably the toughest christmas program in the league.
I predict we will be on no more than 22 points by new year. Bottom 5 with Darren Bent seeking a transfer (which wont be all that bad considering we can't get the ball to him anyway) which, may give some funds to buy another couple of attacking players to put in defensive positions.
I sincerely hope I am wrong. I have supported the villa for a long time (born into it). I can't ever recall feeling so cr@ppy about things. Not even when we were relegated some time back.
Villa to finish the season in 16th place having had their share of time in the bottom 3.

A few weeks ago Sunderland looked like they couldn't win a thing. Now Bruce's new signings have bedded in a bit, they're looking a bit more solid, if not exactly sparkling. But this is a match we should go into preparing to compete, with a win possible.
Sadly, I too think Lawro is right. McLeish's "system" is beginning to crack.
I'm angry. When you think of the stick Houllier took last season, even though he came in late, had a team in a mess, and a major injury situation. McLeish took over a team in good shape (although missing Young and Downing) and had a full pre-season. All he's done is get the defence playing as they used to, and indeed were playing at the end of last season.
At the end of last season Houllier (or maybe McAlister) shelved some of what they were trying to do in order to get the defence back in shape. The difference then was that they went into matches intending to win and had a well thought out strategy to do that. Hence the Arsenal and Liverpool wins. Then difference now is that there is no such strategy. McLeish doesn't do strategies. Or much else.

i think villa will be in a battle every game this season, i kno the ECK wasnt my choice either but we have to get behind him and the team guys, if you need to point the finger point it at our lame board.
