JI SUNG PARK
why people think of him as a winger I dont know. At PSV he was reknown for his passing and pace
For korea he plays infield. with his engine he could be the next keanesque player
thoughts?
The answer to our midfield problem

Great squad player, but I don't think he is the answer for our midfield problems, because if he was then I don't think Utd fans would be as desparate to sign a new midfielder....he's too lightweight and falls over too easily. He undoubtedly works very hard for the team, but Utd need a creative midfielder in the middle or someone with real quality which is something Utd seriously lack atm.

he played similar roles at PSV and korea. does quite well too
worth a try imo could suprise a few, better than fletcher in that role

Park ticks every box mate but don't waste your time posting it here. If he doesn't cost £30m+ and isn't being chased by half of Europe, he's not good enough apparently. Our ja606 fanbase (or most of it) wont be happy with anyone but the players in the papers. I saw him at PSV too though and your right, he is everything we need. His creative game has taken a backseat but it's there, I'd say he's every bit as good at the edge of the D as Nasri or Modric. He's not a Keane type though, not tough or strong enough. Great tenacious little player who'd be able to play in a 2 or 3, do the tackling and defensive work and then be brilliant in our attacks.
I'm with you, use him as a CM, and bring in a defensive LM who could lighten Evra's workload and would give us the same workrate as park. Somebody like Vargas.

Park is not even close to being as good as Carrick. Quite how you see Park playing in that role is well beyond me.
Why do you think SAF has never played him there?

i disagree. just as ando has become a DM from an AM, park has become a 'carthorse' for UTD.
But as I say look at his previous teams and his gamke for korea. Its like he is a different player. He is the nasri, modric dare I say xavi for korea. Everything goes through him and he is quite creative, good on the ball and good passing. for PSV he was reknown for his passing
I agree with the post above about him not being as tough as keane. that is why i say mould. no one can replace robson/keane. park is not as strong as keane but imo better technically

No he has not. The only two players at United that play in a defensive midfield role are Carrick and to a lesser extent, Fletcher.
Andersons best games for United have been when he has played in front of Carrick.

err i think you will find that saf has consistently played ando as a DM. partly to add that dimension to his game. Both have said as much. Ando has even been frustrated by having to curb his attacking instincts
He has played in front of carrick and done well but has been restricted even then

I'd like to think we will get a world class player to replace a retired world class player (Scholes)
Ji sung park is decent player but replacement for Scholes ???? Do one !!!

We need creativity, and the Park that plays for United is the antithesis of creativity.
But its a fair point about his performances for Korea, he always looks a much better player for them. Perhaps having more responsibility?
