Just seeing Bolton go into the lead by what you could call a "lucky" referreeing decision. Compare this to our record this season (points dropped against Everton & Norwich for absolutely no reason). Of course the neutrals will say "they even themselves out over the course of the season" but that just isn't true. Will these sort of decisions cost us our PL status? Or is it entirely down to the the team/manager?
The safety bar is already more than 1 win above our reach, and I can only see us going down at the moment. Kean Out!
Luck makes all the difference?

Nope, can't be bothered.
Purely based on fact!

Thought so, lots of bluff and bluster but no hard evidence, see ya.

Was it the 93/94 season with 9 minutes stoppage time against Sheff Wed?
Certainly that season it was illegal for Alan Shearer to score at OT.
Problem is, for all the 'bluff and bluster' one wrong offside or throw in can have causation meaning a team wins or loses. Following that there's confidence gained or lost and the impact could be massive.
Hence the article which resulted in Hippos daft comment wasting both of our lives...

pie, the daftest comment on this article was posted by yourself(and you know it) which gave"causation" to a reply asking for it to be justified, which as of yet, hasn't been.

Why was it lucky?
The Stoke guy back passed to his keeper quite clearly and the referee signalled, quite rightly, a free kick, which we took and scored.
Do you think KD & Klasnic should have been a little more sporting and waited for the Stoke players to set themselves or what?

Ok, if Shearer's goal at OT hadn't been ruled out in 1994 Rovers would have won the title!

The title didn't change hands because of this but in 94/95 Rovers should have won the league by 10 points.
Rovers 2 - Man U 4
Berg is sent off for a perfectly timed tackle at the score 1-0 to Rovers. Considering we also went 2-1 up with 10 men its pretty clear we'd have won that game without such a diabolical decision from the ref.
Man U 1 Rovers 0
Sherwood's last minute equaliser is ruled out for a totally non existent push by Shearer on Kean.
Add those 2 results together and you gained 5 unjust points while we lost 4, a 9-point swing. We were better than you by a flipping mile that season and it'd have been reflected in the table were it not for the ever-present Man U refereeing bias.

we'd have won this............it'd have been reflected in that.................all if's and buts mate, excuses, i could point to drogba's offside a couple of seasons ago but the FACTS are, we did'nt amass enough points to win the title that year and chelsea did, but am i bitter about it no, i accepted it, you have 38 games to win the league so to blame it on one refereeing decision is just the mark of a bad loser.

I was responding to the Man U fan who was the first poster in this thread to start talking about ifs and buts in reference to the 09/10 season. Anyway its not excuses because we won it anyway, I'm just saying Fergie has refs in his pocket and for one of you lot to ever complain about them is a total joke.

Uncle, was trying to agree with you on that.
Hippo was blaming a single decision on the failure...
