Why are Liverpool so small time now?

Under the great Shankly & Paisley Liverpool stood for football, style and trophies. So where did it all go so wrong? Why are they now so small time that Stoke City have replaced them in europes junior competition.

Clueless managers such as Roy Evans, Ronnie Moron, Gerard Houlier, Graeame Souness and the money wasting Benitez have run the club aground and in desperation have even tried to emulate Manchester United's success by having an American owner.

Will they ever get back to where they were or have they had their time?
