Injury concerns for England..???

As a nutural spectator for this up-coming match between Eng Vs N-Z of which I hope England make it through to the final so we can get some good old fashioned banter happening like the good old days that theowdun and myself remember as if it was yesterday...

The question is...........have England got any injury concerns and is there any word of whom will be going into this game with the usual niggling injuries.

The late great Jack Gibson always said, never move a good player just to fill in a position....but personally I feel Sam Tomkins needs to be closer to the ball at either 7 or 6 because he would have the opposition defence in two minds not knowing where they should be.....cheers & good luck.

Good evening/morning Souths.
The latest on the injury front is that Graham and Ellis are expected to make it but there is still a doubt about Peacock.
I myself have allways seen Sam Tomkins as an halfback, but wether Mcnamara will have the bottle to play him there is another matter.
I could just see him interchanging with Widdop between fullback and halfback, which in itself could cause confusion within the Kiwi ranks.
But Mcnamara seems obsessed with having Chase and Sinfield in the 6 and 7 posistion, the problem is Chase is a loose cannon whith no structure and Sinfield is the safety first option offering nothing creative (at pace ) which a team at international level needs to succeed.
Oh for the days of Murphy and David Bolton creating havoc with the Aussie halfbacks, also Vinty Karilius and Brian Mctuige having a different of opinion with O'Shea,Proven and O'neil etc. ( I may have got the era some of these players played in but you know what I mean)
Those days have gone forever but memories allways linger.
If England can do it this weekend I hope England throw the safety first out of the window in the final and throw caution to the wind and evoke the memory of Murphy ,Millword Gregory and the rest of the great old halfbacks and play it as they see it.
Cue for Tomkins in the halves, who knows?.

I think Jamie peacock is past his sell by date. I just don't think he can cut it at international; level no more, and the same go's for Adrian Morley.

I hear what your saying B-F but if these two could put in 80min. of there best it would go a long way towards a victory...Peacocks commitment seems to be pretty good..

As you all will know by now iam not a fan of mcnamara, but I do believe this is the strongest england squad for years,so what does our leader do,play an off half(chase) at scrum half, plays a loose forward (sinfield) at off half. The guy hasn't a clue, widdop has played full back/off half for melbourne, the team that topped the table after the regular rounds and he can't get a start. Can somebody please tell the clown if he intends to play chase at scrum half, give him somebody with a bit of pace at off half tomkins/widdop/maguire.Whoever he dosen't pick at off half out of widdop or tomkins put at full back and sinfield to his best position, loose forward.Good luck to england,I will be there shouting for us.!

I agree with Tomkins at 6 and Widdop at 1...

With Darius Boyd moving to fullback to cover for the injured Slater, it will be interesting to see who gets the job of containing Hall on the wing.
It's a shame Hall & Uate are on opposites because it would be worth the price of admission alone to see who gets the upper hand......
